Best air flow configuration???

Greetings All,

In everyones opinion, what is the best airflow configuration to keep your system running cool and at optimum levels??
Is there a specific intake/ exhaust setup that most people use, taking into consideration the air and heat generated from the cpu fan, gpu fan, and northbridge fan (if you have one)???

Currently I've got a standard Foxconn ATX case with a Sparkle 300 watt power supply w/ one 80mm fan, an 80mm fan on the side panel for intake and one 80mm fan on the back as my exhaust. Motherboard temps never go above 80F/27C and the CPU even under load doesn't go above 120F/49C.

Sounds like your setup is working fine.

I haven't got my setup together yet, still waiting on components to arrive. But my new case has an intake on the side panel and an
exhaust on the TOP of the case (warm air rises). I plan to add another exhaust to the back and another intake on the front panel.

I think as long as you a a positive pressure ratio in your case and your "warm" spots are all getting reached by the flow, then you're set.

One thing that resulted from a NASA study on cooling is that a slight vacuum is preferred as opposed
to too much air being pumped into a case. Then, if it works, don?t fix it.

More air being exhausted, the better.

More air flow TRHOUGH the case the better. Need to make sure there are not 'dead' spots.

Can I add to this question?
The case I have ordered has 5 fans . Two front, two back and one side panel.

The two back come with the case, one blows in and one blows out.

Should both blow out? or is it good they are blowing one in and one out?
Should the front ones both blow in?
or should the front one blow in and teh other front one blow out?
Should the side fan blow in or out?

Both fronts should blow in and both rears should blow out. IMHO anyways.

This is the way the ATX standard is designed IIRC.
