Best AMD processor for $100 or less?

This processor is for a new system I am building and putting into a Antec SX835II.

Also, I would appreciate recommendations for a good heatsink/fan that is very quiet and gets the job done well. I would be interested in overclocking the processor to get the most speed out of it that I can, but I don't want to overclock to a point that it takes massive amounts of cooling to keep it from getting too hot.

As for the motherboard, I am leaning toward the 8RDA+.

RAM recommendations would also be appreciated too.

Thanks.

Second that, the 2100+ Tbred revision-B (get it from Newegg.com) is hands down the best one. You can easily overclock it to 2700+ specs, and some people on here even get up to 3000+ specs.

I'd recommend the SLK-800 Heatsink from SVC.com, and you can pretty much make the call on what fan you want. There is a balance between CFM and Noise that you'd have to choose.

Corsair XMS memory works great for what I have. Try to get PC3200 if you are going to overclock that processor.

Overclocking would be easy if you got the 8RDA+ motherboard.

I'm with Human and Ego on the processor. And I second Ego's slk-800 from SVC.com. SVC also has an 80mm YS-Tech variable speed fan which will allow you to choose your level of silence.
For memory I would go to ExcaliberPC.com for the Kingston HyperX. The pc3000 is an incredible value right now. You'll probably want two sticks with the 8RDA+. I just bought two sticks of their HyperX pc3500. I also bought a 2100+ AIUHB 0302 from Excaliber. I wanted to choose which week I got.

How is your HyperX going with your 2100+? I was looking at the 3500 hyperx too since it's the same price as 3200 XMS TWINX, or actually cheaper.

Yup thats a great combo right there, would be very similar to the setup I'll have tomorrow (8rda being delivered tomorrow). I have a slk-800 and a smart fan II cooling my tbred 1700+@ 2083mhz 1.75v at 31C idle and 37C full load

you could do a 1700+ from excalibur.com or excaliburpc.com i forget what the URL was. but they have 0307 t-bred b's and some are hitting 2.3ghz on air with nary a bump in voltage. and its a guarentee that if they dont deliver that stepping you get money back or some junk.
and with the extra cash get a nice HSF setup.
myself since i dont trust socket clip mounting systems id say alpha pal 8045 or swiftech MCX 426u+ or whatever it is. i have both and both do damn good with a tornado on them. got a 2700+ sitting at 38c idle currently with an alpha and that fan.
but im not familiar with the mobo you are looking at but if it doesnt have the 4 thru the mobo mounting holes get the SLK

Thanks for the advice! Continued input is welcomed. I will probably place my order at the end of the week.

I just set up a system with the 2100+ -- purchased via NewEgg -- one note, I prefer a better heatsink/fan combination than the retail AMD version.
