I believe he is asking if the "incredible" is really better than the moto droid or the other droid.

I have heard the "incredible" isn't really living up to its name. I'm planning on buying one in the next month or so and are looking at the same things.

Best how? The Moto Droid has a keyboard. The Incredible is probably the most 'powerful' one, in terms of specs. The upcoming LG Ally is at a nice price point, along with the HTC Eris, both 99 bucks. Ally has a keyboard, the Eris is all touch. Depends what you're looking for.

What does this mean? It's not living up to it's name? It's the best Android phone out right now and will be second best when the Spring Evo 4GB is released. The numbers don't lie and the reviews don't lie. If you have some subjective opinions about the Incredible such as you don't like the shape of the back or it's slower than what you think it should be, that's another issue.

I would hate to think you dismiss a product because they decided to name it poorly. It's like saying The Macbook Pro isn't very "pro" to me because I don't like the battery life.

sigh. No need to be so freaking confrontational.

I have heard it said that some of the things people really liked about the droid is not on the incredible. Most specifically the keyboard.

I really don't know how it compares to the iPhone which is really what it needs to be compared to.

Why does it need to be compared to the iPhone when the OP asked about the best Android phone?

I know several people with the Moto and none of them actually use the keyboard.

If you need a keyboard: Droid
If you don't need a keyboard: Incredible

Simple.

Basically this. I own both phones and they both have their pros and cons but the main difference is the keyboard or lack of. Personally I think the Droid keyboard sucks but I'd always recommend you go to the store and play with both phones.

Simple.

Not that simple...

Droid = far superior battery life, but slower

Incredible = It's an HTC. And it's built less impressively. Droid feels like a tank in your hands.

Droid overclocks very well and puts it in the same realm if not more than the Inc. I've got mine up to 1.3Ghz. Radio/call quality is a lot better imo.

I have no need to overclock the Droid. The limitations are largely network.

I got the droid over other android phones because I've always hated the touch screen keyboards. The droid touch screen keyboard is better than anyone I've ever used, I don't use the hardware keyboard any more.

I write emails for work and the touch screen is worthless for something longer than 1 word.

I completely disagree. In the past, I had a really hard time with touch screen keyboards, with the droid I can type really fast with hardly any errors. I use it turned sideways. Personal preference I guess.

I really don't know how it compares to the iPhone which is really what it needs to be compared to.

I hate this mindset. The iPhone was surpassed in hardware, storage, performance, screen effectiveness, etc, a long time ago.

The Incredible needs to be compared to the other top end phones, the Moto Droid and the Evo 4G.

I really like the Droid, but wish it came in a keyboard-less model to cut down on some of the bulk. The Incredible looks like a nice phone, but I prefer longer battery life as both aren't great.

Incredible cons:
Materials. Or a plus one for it being lightweight and a better pocket phone.
Battery life is on the ugly side.
AMOLED screen is showing it needs another gen or two for it to be dead on.
No Keyboard.
Sense UI does mean upgrades will be slower. But if you like out of the box, then don't care about that.

Incredible Pluses:
AMOLED screen, still could be a Plus for you if you don't mind the drawbacks.
Form factor and weight. Again, pocketable.
Sense UI. Handy apps and widgets. Slightly tweaked on screen keyboard.

Droid Cons:
Heavy
Keyboard ain't the best.
No Sense UI.
Slower processor.

Droid Pros:
Best radio out of all the Droid phones. Regardless of carrier.
Great speaker.
Great battery life (for a smartphone)
Screen colors and contrast are downright dead on. If I pull up one of pics online, it's so close to the real deal. Only misses a little shadow detail.

I would have thought the Incredible has a total speed advantage. But after my Droid FINALLY got the 2.1 upgrade, I say the Droid is pretty snappy. And the advantage seems nil.

If you like the Sense UI, get the Incredible. The only REAL Con is the battery life. If you have a dedicated desk at work, just by another micro USB charger.
