Akira is insanely good, most anime movies are really depressing, everyone always seems to end up dying or the characters split apart or something. This is coming from a guy with like 50 anime dvds and 35 gigs of anime on his hd.

not the case with the stuff I watch, nearly 90% of them have a happy ending in the end, and the majority do not involve death of any sort. the beauty of anime is it is so diversified you would probably find something you hate and something you love. i started watching sorta late, dating back to 2001. but since then, for past 2-3 years i have kept up with most shows that drew my attention and dont think i missed out too many. got about 200gb on hdd, 60dvds burnt, yet others in code1/3 dvds.

ok nvm, I took it the wrong way. I thought you were taking a jab at my hobby but oh wellWas saying that I have lots of free time to watch/keep track on anime because I'm in highschool which means very few obligations and I ignore the ones that I do have, like homework.

I can personally vouch for Castle in the Sky, Pom Poko, Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, and My Neighbor Totoro.
