Best Athlon XP to Overclock

What is the best Athlon XP .13micron to overclock with?

Any of the mobile Bartons. They're only slightly more expensive, and are better chips than the "normal" Bartons. 2.4-2.5ghz on air is fairly common.

2.4-2.5ghz on air isn't very rare to my cpu running never into the 50's only ever hit 47 with Thermalruight SLK-900A and 92mm vantec *with* fan controller. So i would say go for either. by the way some of my fellow lanners have their 1700+'s and 1800+'s at 2.4ghz running in the 50's

The Tbred 1700 is a much better bang for your Buck then the barton 2500 M, I ordered a barton moblie becuase I am bored, but my Tbred 1700@2.3 will allways be the top overclocker in my book untill something better than the 2500 M comes along, 800+ MHZ overclock on tbred is hard to beat. my 1700@2.3 36c idle 41c full load. fingers crosses Unless I get one of the Golden 2500Ms that does 2.7 will know tommorow

so far from what i've read the 2500+ mobile is better than the 2400+

at least from some people that have had both say the 2500+ gets higher clocks..

with a stock difference of 66MHz, I think some are willing to take their chances. There shouldn't be any major guarantee or magical feature the 2500+ has over the 2400+ to insure that you'll be able to achieve a higher clock. Even if you do you did pay a good $20 more and therefore should "deserve" a higher clock. Worth it IMHO? Naw.

So is it possible to get a Mobile 2600+ close to 3.0 GHz using 2.15 volts as I am doing with my Atlon XP 2400+ oc'ed to 2.5 GHz (12.5x200 fsb)?:beer:

Yeah, they're doing it with 2.2v, but remember that Bartons don't seem to handle overvolting as well as T-bred B's do.
