Sting, not my favorite artist but definitely best performance I saw.

Tie for second: U2 & Radiohead

The WORST concert I've ever seen would have to be the Marshall Tucker Band a couple of years ago at the county fair. Only one member left from the original band, and he just can't sing for shit...They DID have some decent musicians, but unfortunately, IMO, they just don't sound anything like the original band. (different styles etc.) Now I know why they were on the FREE stage...

I've been to quite a few large stadium shows and I just can't get into them very well.

Most entertaining show I've been to was probably the Mars Volta in a smaller venue in Detroit.

Probably all around best show was Van Halen back in the David Lee Roth days.
Tina Turner put on a great show, nonstop energy.
Heart was really good live, not very showy, but sounded great.

I only saw him perform a couple of songs but Buddy Guy is hands down the best performer I have ever seen. Not only in his music but how he works the crowd and is just so damned cool for a 130 year-old dude with sunglasses and a fancy suit.

Led Zeppelin tribute band since I'm way too young to have seen Led Zeppelin live

I can't really decide Slipknot, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Rob Zombie and Iron Maiden are all great in concert.

Metallica 1988, Toledo Sports Arena. Queensryche opened for them.

20 years later and I can still feel the part in Creeping Death: "Die! By my hands! I creep across the land...." in my chest.

Melissa Etheridge during the tour for her second album. She put on a great show.

I really want to see U2, they look and sound amazing and I'd like to see if for myself.

U2 is good, but I paid $120 to sit in the upper bowl at the opposite end of the arena from the stage...

Yeah, U2 is awesome live, but their tickets are ridiculous sometimes.

I saw The Who in concert, (girlfriend is crazy about them, for some reason); pretty good for being a bunch of old farts. They can still put on a great show.

I'd love to see them in concert. They're touring with the Foo Fighters right now (god what a killer show) but the closest show is 6 hours away, and I doubt I'd be able to get work off.

The YES tour for "CLose To The Edge" back in 1973 or so.

The moving stage pieces, lights, and 4 channel -surround sound system were just fantastic, especially back then.
Really made an impression on me.

A couple that have been really good but not quite as good: Bullet for My Valentine, Disturbed, Killswitch Engage.

Bands I MUST see before I die: In Flames

It's a tough choice between the Slackers (seen at the bowery ballroom on Sunday), the Pietasters (seen just after Thanksgiving) or the Dropkick Murphys (saw back in March and again this coming March).

Our Lady Peace. I have seen lots of rock shows, but none were better musically or in showmanship than that group of Canadians.

Local type bands
Carnival Season
Ten Hands
Buck Pets
Nogood Boyo (hey, they're my friends)

In small venues
The Toadies
The Bears
The Godfathers
Flaming Lips (The Clouds Taste Metallic tour. They weren't nearly as good the second time I saw them)
Leo Kottke (okay, not really a band...)

Big venues
U2 - just for the stage presence.
Tool - sheer awesomeness
Pearl Jam - saw them on the anti ticketmaster tour. I'd seen them about 3x before and thought they were okay, but on this tour they were a lot better for some reason.
