Intel killing low-end over-clocking has made a hole in the market for AMD. I would say that you should buy AMD if you are spending under $400. You should buy Intel if you are going to spend $600 or more. The middle $401-599 is a toss-up depending on specials.
I would NOT wait for Llano, as the GPU gets weak on the dual-core budget chips. A AMD HD 5570 or better will beat any intergrated graphics for $70, and for another $50 you can have your pick of any of the low-end cards.
Get an AM3+ board, and a cheaper AMD dual or triple core. Buy yourself a nice cheaper cooler, like the Xigmatek Gaia @ $30. People say that Bulldozer should run on AM3+ boards, so start saving your pennies today!
For $350 (USD) you should be able to buy the core of the system ($95 CPU, $30 cooler, $70 GPU, $40 RAM, $110 Mo-Bo). You will still need a case, additional case fan, power supply, hard disk drive, optical disk drive, and operating system. With frugal choices, and using Linux, your total system could cost as little as $470 (+s/h).
