Best Bang for Buck videocard?

What's the best bang for the buck videocard at the moment? I'm looking at :

right now but was wondering if there was anything new/better at the moment.

both choices are good, standard coolers on 8800GT suck, and these are better.

8800GT would be your best bet; if you have a case with reasonably good airflow and monitor your temperatures, stock cooling should be fine, though a bit loud. The MSI is your best bet for the silence, cooling, and overclocking potential of the 8800GT.

I guess that is the gigabyte with the software voltage control and this would be the the one to buy, since you can overclock it pretty high ( 800 mhz core) and that can be an important performance boost.

i own the card in the first link. holy crap i cant believe how cheap that thing is after rebate now. i paid 205$ a few months ago and that was an amazing deal. its a wonderful card and i have it clocked all the way up to 720Mhz (600 stock, this card comes OC'd at 660) with no problems. the cooler is amazing and my temps under full load barely break 50C ever, which is quite good for a GPU as many with normal coolers reach 70C quickly.

I must point out that under higer resolution without AA 3870 will work better that a 8800 GT...!!

If you could add about 50 more bucks or so the 8800 GTS 512MB will be a good card!!!

Also the GTS models have the cooler that exhausts heat out of the case, much better than a cooler that just moves it around inside.

There are 2-3 other 8800 GTS cards for under $200 after rebate at newegg.

9600GT is a hair slower than 8800GT in most games, especially with the AA/AF enabled. The 3870 tends to be about on par with the 9600.

Yes, 3870 is a bit faster with AA off and 9600 GT is a bit faster with AA on. So it depends if you care or not about using antialiasing.

yup and 8800gts is faster with or without AA than all 3 of the other cards. The newegg deal is okay if you don't mind the ECS brand name & reputation & the MIR>
