Best bang the buck hotel in Las Vegas on the strip?

Highly recommend Monte Carlo. The prices are usually a little cheaper than MGM / NYNY / Flamingo / Paris. The rooms are nice, the place doesn't smell as smoky as others like Excalibur, and it's right in the middle of the strip. Not a lot of kids running around there too. It also has a food court when you want to grab some food fast, not having to wait at a restaurant. It also has the brewery.
Lance Burton is there for the magic show...

I've stayed at a few hotels on the strip. From your list, I've stayed at the MGM Grand once. It's a massive hotel with just about everything you could ever want in it. Food, shows, clubs, bars, and of course, gambling. From what I remember, the rooms are OK, nothing special, but there are a lot of great deals going on right now so you might be able to get one on the cheap.

After staying at nearly all the hotels, Luxor's my favorite (and entirely comped by now from all the stays) and would be my general recommendation. "Best bang" depends on what deals you can get.

on the strip I would have to say the Excalibur (decent rooms, good location). Off strip, try the Gold Coast. Bit of an older/locals-only crowd, but you can take shuttles to the stip and you have the Palms and the Rio nearby. low limits at the GC is also great.

i've stayed at the IP. great location. pretty crummy hotel. the room was clean, at least. nothing special about it.

however, the dealertainers are AMAZING. seriously. some of the worst C-list celebrity impersonators that deal you blackjack.

You can't beat that.

Bally's is smack in the middle of the strip and it was pretty cheap (straight up w/ discounts etc) Next door to Paris, across Las Vegas Blvd from Bellagio.

I love NYNY. Great atmosphere for the 24-30s range. Not too young of a crowd like the Palms, but not too old and stuffy. Great music, food, etc.

Stay downtown. I stayed at Fitzgerald's on my first trip years back. The rooms are adequate and the staff indifferent, but the money you save would probably pay for a limo to take you everywhere and a couple shows. Plus the odds are better and the drinks stronger on Fremont St.

Because I am 24 and like to rationalize my love for NYNY, and pretend I am on the young end of the age spectrum there.

I would say 21-23 is when you go to vegas to get completely shithoused and do some blow and a hooker in your room. Once you get passed that, its more about getting completely shithoused and gambling, going to shows, etc.
