Wuthering Heights was good, although it kind of bordered on soapopera with the love triangles and people dying conveniently. But still a good read.Originally posted by: SWScorch
Dune, by Frank Herbert. It's every bit as huge and immersive as LOTR but more philosophical and profound. I also really liked Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. It's difficult to read at first because of the diction and sentence structure, but it is amazingly powerful.

Stephenson's Snow Crash is good, but his Cryptonomicon is much, much better, as is his Baroque Cycle trilogy.
