Chrome by far my preferred browser and search engine, works well with all our business-related websites. I love the tabbed browsing feature.

Now that Firefox removed cookies always ask for allow/deny option as of version 44, I'm using Opera or Waterfox. I only use Chromium in Linux (community built browser). I can't believe some people has never heard of Opera, it's one of the oldest web browsers since the boom of the internet 20 years ago, I guess Netscape and Explorer were that much more popular.

Pale Moon doesn't properly display some webpages.

I use Firefox mostly, when I don't I use Chrome.

Cyberfox had more issues than Firefox and I didn't really see it as an improvement over Firefox.

I also prefer to stand, except when I am sitting or lying down.

I tried to use Opera on my Win XP sp3 and it asks me to install IE8 also to get some file!,also does Opera comes with Flash player?,i also installed Chromium in Xubuntu 14.04 from Xubuntu software but i couldn't get flash player,i don't understand why Chromium doesn't use same flash player that i use with firefox in same Xubuntu 14.04,since installed from the ubuntu restricted extras software.

Vivaldi and Otter Browser (when Otter switches to QTWebengine) - both browsers do not bow down to Google's minimalism concept which they have enforced to both Opera and Mozilla Firefox. Vivaldi and Otter will never sell out in such a way.

From what I remember reading Vivaldi phones home.

First I've heard of that. Source?

Also, someone saying that Google has a minimalism concept with Chrome.

Seems like a lot of misinformation.

Chrome is the best browser by far, due to it's speed and functionality.. Microsoft's Edge browser is the only browser that has the potential to beat Chrome. It has the speed, but the functionality is nowhere near that of Chrome.....yet..

I found this:

https://vivaldi.net/en-US/forum/vivaldi-browser-for-linux/3340-snapshot-1-0-167-2-better-keyboard-shortcut-editing-and-user-statistics#26656

Vivaldi will connect with our servers for this purpose only once per day. We do not collect any usage data.

This is only for us to have a general feel about our overall user base.

So, on first run Vivaldi generates a unique ID for your installation.

Then, every 24 hours, your browser, if running, will send via https, the following info:

The unique user ID
Browser user agent
CPU architecture
Screen Resolution
Accept Language

So it does phone home and who knows if that is really all the information they see.

So, then, what's the point?

Chrome doesn't phone home? FF doesn't? Have people vetted FF's opt-out code?

EDIT: My post sounds harsher than I want it to. I'm glad you actually did provide a source, since I didn't know that about Vivaldi and have been using it on my laptop. It's better than FF (performance) and Chrome (kinder to the battery).

There's been enough little things about Vivaldi in the last few weeks that I'll likely switch to Edge when the Anniversary update with extension support officially drops. Like I had said, phoning home doesn't bother me too much, since it's just basic stuff being reported.

It's dumb that Vivaldi feels the need to send the exact same information every day, but I guess I don't see this as a big issue.

Please compare only Firefox and Chrome. No other option
What if someone doesnt think those 2 are the best??

Your asking "BEST BROWSER" but then your restricting it....

a few tweaks to make firefox better... perhaps use a user.js file... the increased mouse scrolling speed and behavior without that acceleration element to the scrolling makes it "feel" much faster. Works best with smooth scrolling enabled.

user_pref("general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS", 200);
user_pref("general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMinMS", 400);
user_pref("toolkit.telemetry.archive.enabled", false);
user_pref("toolkit.telemetry.enabled", false);
user_pref("toolkit.telemetry.unified", false);
user_pref("browser.chrome.toolbar_tips", false);
user_pref("network.prefetch-next", false);
user_pref("browser.startup.page", 3);
user_pref("mousewheel.min_line_scroll_amount", 40);

I find Pale Moon to have the best combination of responsiveness, stability and customization.

The only thing it lacks over chrome forks is full HTML5 playback support in youtube. On the few occasions when I want to watch a long fullscreen youtube stream, I use vivaldi

Pale Moon doesn't properly display some webpages.
I have not found a webpage that doesnt display properly with Pale Moon.

I just tried Pale Moon yesterday on my laptop - the x64 version. Seemed to work great, except when I click on my mouse button to go back a page, it does not work. The function works fine in FF and Chrome, so not sure what the issue is. I also had an issue with it displaying the Ublock Origin icon. I can drag it there, but after I close and restart Pale Moon, the icon is gone.
Another plus is the use of the old Ghostery, which does not require to you "sign in". I guess they sold out. Bummer - such a great addon to block trackers.

You can get the 5.4.11 version of Ghostery here. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ghostery/versions/

You will need to disable the automatic updating of all your add-ons. This means you will need to update them manually from now on skipping the Ghostery updates.

I completely agree with you!
