If you money toblow on fast computers, minimum system requirement: 3ghz, 1gb ram. 64mb agp 8x video card. it's very sluggish on my computer. here at 2ghz.
azureus is java based and so it's inefficient as a client. too many feature I don't need, configuration confusing.

just another bittornado spinoff with gui. nothing special. also memory hogger. bitcomet is best imho, lagging only super seeding which would be implemented in the future if it is necessary to make seeding more efficient.

I use azureus currently.

One thing that I like about it is that it gives me a lot of stats. I think bittorrent is an interesting program, and I like how in azureus it shows me graphs of the users connected to me and gives me what countries they are from. Do any other clients give as much stats as azureus does?

the torrent you are working with are small ranges from a few meg to 700mb?
try it with 5gb to 32gb torrent, you will see a serious drain on your cpu and memory. the reason why most use azureus is that java is popular and so they think it's good. I have compare it to bitcomet, bittornado, it does not let you download faster, resume faster or connect to more users.
I download as many as 10 5gb torrent all at the same time while the computer uses only about 10-15 percent on 2ghz machine, 256mb of ram. the key is convenient and fast. I find that if you leech from numberous torrent simataneously, your overall download speed is much better then to download from 1 or 2 torrent using bittornado.

I did not find that sun java works better then ms java. sun takes up 120mb of disk space, ms java only 10mb!

actually i use that computer for all the large torrent Dls, cause i dont have the disk space on this one to run 5 15-20 gig torrents at once, it handled them with out an issue

this comp has has as many as 15 200 meg torrents running on it at once, with no noticable issues other then the inter net being slow

heres a pic, of 12, azureus useing like 150 megs of ram
http://www.rootminus1.com/pics/albums/userpics/10001/torrents.JPG

i use whatever java they have linked from the azureus site, 1.5. whatever

and 120 megs is nothing in todays worls

you really care what country they are from? you gonna meet them in person?
stats mean nothing, if all it does is try to impress you with graphs. what really matters is the number of seeds, peers, your download speed.

Sorry, I'll rephrase myself. The amount of peers I can connect to and my download speeds are the most important needs that I want in a client.

But seeing that there's people from sweden, china, america, the UK, and australia all downloading some random american television show from the early 90's is interesting to me
