Doesn't the last sentence basically mean their price guarantee doesn't apply to sales, and we can't go back and get the reduced price and/or rebates?

Negative. "Special" pricing mostly refers to"Buy this, get this price on other item", open items and store-specific sales (IE, grand opening sales) but does not mean normal, everyday sales.

Well, I was at the local BB today and did take a peek at the 75gig WD HD. They had them stacked on the top shelf and one of the guys was nice enough to get one down for me. It is in fact a WD 75gig 7200rpm drive. Its seek time is 8.x but buffer is 2MB. I don't remember any other details.

Anyways, does anymore information on that cd-rw? Like what is it a re-badge of, etc? I just want to make sure its a decent burner (i.e. supports SD2 and such) before I wake my ass up and wait in line.

I have never gone to any black friday sales and so I do not know what to expect. I was planning on getting there at 5:30am....Do you guys go there earlier to get on line?

Depending on how popular the BB is. 5:30 will probably be way to late. There are people who wait all night. I arrived at my local BB last year at 5 and the line was already around the building.

I ordered the GF4 Ti4200 from bestbuy.com earlier this week at $200.

I'm planning on picking it up at the store Friday morning with a price adjustment. However, I still need a properly dated receipt to get the MIR.

And while my local Best Buy usually puts .com orders in a locked cabinet, there's no guarantee they've actually reserved the unit I ordered and will have it available tomorrow morning for me.

Any thoughts on how this will shake out? Obviously, it's too late now to go pick up the card first and wait until Friday to take care of pricing. I sorta assumed I could get lucky and have it all sorted out on Friday (two trips for the price adjustment/receipt if necessary).

I got there almost two hours before they opened and there were over 300 people infront of me. I'm telling you, if you want to get anything good you need to plan on spending the night out there. If I can talk a friend into going with me, I'll be getting there at 2:00.

I did the Visiontek GF3 Ti-200 Deal last BF and pre-bought it and did the rebuy thing the next day. For some reason I have a feeling Best Buy is going to hassle people this year for trying to do this because of all the problems it caused them last year. I was going to get in on this deal but decided to wait until the Geforce FX comes out. The 4200 is the bottom of the line for the GF4 cards besides the MX series. If you have a GF2 now or slower this might be a good upgrade, otherwise I'd wait. Good luck to everyone in making this work. <ake sure you are in line NLT 4:00.

What would be a hot deal is if you could get the god dam Best Buy employee's to quit whoring their replacement plan, even when you say no, they still tell you how great it is and your crazy if you dont.

I bought a printer stand, and they tried to sell me a replacement warranty?? I tried to buy the warranty on some ink cart's, and asked for the manager to sell it to me. They did?? When empty i'd say it was broke. I cant wait to go back and argue.

I was at BestBuy last night just before closing in Birmingham and was asking the guys where they were going to move the G4Ti4200 BFG cards to for Friday AM. Said they were not moving but they were going to herd people through the store in some sort of snaking que "to keep traffic moving". Yes, right. I am going to be doing the O.J. Simpson airport hurdle through that sh@t.
Anyway, I was telling him about his special for $89.99 AR on that BFG card for Friday morning and he made some veiled example of trying to look it up in his secret ad information, and said he did not see that card on special. I told him in passing that maybe somebody doctored up a graphic to play a joke and left it at that (grinning smugly to myself). They had 10 neatly lined up on the regular video card shelf ready for Friday AM. In this morning's sale pages, there it was, pretty as a peach. That guy now knows who's boss!

Yes, I work at Bestbuy #233 in Houston. I'll be the guy at the end of the line with balloons tied to my beltloop. The line will snake all around the store and I have to make sure it stays organized. I have to be there at 5:30 a.m., but I know people start showing up after midnight.

1 hour before it's opened? Not cool dude. YOu might wanna line up 2 or 3 hours before it's open!

The CF cards are in the camera section, though you might want to glance over at the customer service counter/upgrades counter on your way in the store because they might be behind the counter. That's how it was last year with all the tech stuff. They had a guy behind the counter handing out tech stuff like video cards, hard drives, RAM, etc..

I would seriously consider getting there at least 2 hours before the doors open if you want to be sure to have a good crack at the "hot" items if you didn't buy them ahead of time. I got there about an hour and a half early last year and there were a ton of people in front of me already. I was very fortunate to get everything that I wanted. I sure had to scramble around the store to get it though.

BTW.. Thanks so much for posting the deals wintermute. I went on a little shopping spree last night and bought everything that I wanted early to return/rebuy later. Sure enough when I opened this mornings paper to look at the BB ad, everything that I had purchased yesterday was in the ad and marked exactly the way you posted it. Thanks again!!
