I too am looking for a Surround Sound System (Home Theatre). The two Home Theatre systems mentioned in your Black Friday price quotes don't seem to appear on BB's site. Can you tell me how this sale works? I notice on the ad it says "6 Hour Special"... from which times will this sale runs and will it be available in all BestBuys (our first just opened few weeks ago).

So any idea what the platter size is on the 75 GB Western Digital drive? Did WD come across some extra 25 GB platters and make some drives out of them? I don't understand how else you could get 75 GB.

Doesn't the last sentence basically mean their price guarantee doesn't apply to sales, and we can't go back and get the reduced price and/or rebates?

I just went to the Best Buy website and got the card for 199 with free shipping yesterday.... I live about 60 miles from Best Buy in Salem. So, I'll just get the rebates on saturday and if they don't let me have the rebates I'll just return the card for a full refund... I'm not gonna open it... And I'm not waiting in line....

compared to the last year deal, i don't think the Ti4200 deal is that hot.... what do you guys think? i am not a hardcore gamer, but i still would want to go play Return castle wolfenstine since i have given my Ti200 from last year to my brother(11yrs old). i am not convinced at all (for a price difference of$44 dollars between BB and PriceWatch (and also believing the current trade makes me think the prices for these will drop in a one month period of time) is it really worth the time and effort to spend? anybody want to comment?

Which Surround Sound/Home Theater System? The one that is listed as KLH 160-Watt Home Theater System with DVD Player (HA7000/HA9000) can actually be seen on the bottom right of this scan.

The one listed as Sony STR-DE485 Dolby Digital/DTS Receiver + KLH 6-Piece Speaker Set (HTA-4906) is rated at 100 Watts X 5 for the receiver and 50 watts for the subwoofer. You can find more detailed info on by searching Google, etc. for STR-DE485 or HTA-4906. The ad doesn't have any other info.

The Pioneer 500Watt Theater system (HTD-529DV) and the Yamaha 455-Watt Theater system (YHT-300) are eligible for an instant FREE $50 gift card with purchase. That means to me (since they say "instant" in the ad) that you buy either two units and they hand youa gift card after you make the purchase. I can't promise that, but it doesn't mention anything about mail-in gift cards on the ad.

I hear what you're saying. 2 months ago we were scoring PNY 4200s (64 meg though) for $99 after rebate. Given that Nvidia will be doing the new card in February (begin holding breath now), we can expect to see retailers dumping old GF4s in January.

That being said, $89 for a 128meg GF4 is the best you're going to do for another 2 months. If you're building a system or getting a gift for Christmas, this is the card to put in there. I don't expect there to be a better value until late January.

PS- I reserve the right to be 100% wrong about all of this. Lord knows I was about RAM prices- eeesh!

It's their frickin published store policy to pricematch if you find a lower price later. If they reject such attempts, I bet they find at least one BB burned down to the ground.

Anyway, since this card appears to be part of their regular sale, if they run out can't you just buy one and wait til it gets shipped to the store? IIRC, I did that with a TV once...they were OOS but expected more so I bought it, got a receipt and everything, just had to wait for it to show up at the store. So if you buy it right there, you should get all the rebate receipts and stuff as well. Or you could just wait and see if they get some more in during the next week.

Ha! Get this. I ordered the BFG video card Monday for in-store pick up. It was getting past 6 pm yesterday and I still hadn't received a confirmation on order pick up at my BB, so I went ahead and decided to go to the very same store where I set up a in-store pick up. I found about 8 cards on the shelf and bought one last night. Well.. I just received an email from BB saying that the card was not found at the BB where I just bought the card with 8 still on the shelf. I knew that they were going to try and pull this. I could just feel it.

Anyway.. I would highly suggest that anyone interested in this card get to their local BB ASAP and pick one up to return/rebuy because I doubt that any of them will let you do an in-store pick up at this point.
