$19.99 Digital Research 16X DVD-ROM DRDVD1640 after 2 $20 MIRs. (I can only find one $20 rebate for this under IOMagic - help with the other?)

$.99 Memorex 30pk CD-Rs 48X with slimline jewel cases 3202-4530. $19.99 less $5 IR less $14 MIR.

After TWO mail in rebates?!?!?! Where did you even SEE that there was such an offer for a DVD-ROM for $20?! I looked and only found one rebate. So I'm wondering where did you ever read that there was two for this reader?

I hated everything about Best Buy and rebates....and double rebates are really frustrating.

Its hard enough getting the rebates from good store and good companies... Best Buy Digital Research and 2 rebates? I smell trouble.

Anyone know of an easy way to browse through slim-cases? Like you know how with regular CD cases, you can read the title on the spine (like if they're all on a rack). I'm looking to keep all my burned DVDs in slim jewel cases rather than a CD book and having to flip through all of them to find a movie. Thanx if anyone knows of a way.

As unclebud said, this may be in-store only. Their ads do not say one way or the other and some items (like the cd-rs) are available both places. The DVD was available in-store showing $19.99 final price on the shelf tag.

i think this is a b & m deal (from the thrus/friday/sat circular?), so people will have to leave their computers (yes, i know -- the horror!) to get the deal
both rebates probably prints out at the register -- one to santa ana, one to calais me
but this is all supposition...

I just number mine and keep a spreadsheet with the number and a description. Pretty simple to keep up with. Just print a copy every now and then for manually searching.

COOL!! I just went to BB tonight and saw that the DVD-ROM WAS $20!! It was two rebates, but you had to be there to get them both! Thanks for the post, and sorry for the hassel! Once again, Anandtech comes to my rescue. You can't complain buying a 16x DVD-ROM for $20!

I have a DVD+R/RW burner, that means that this dvd player won't play any dvd+r/rw cds I burn?

I got a MadDog 16x DVD rom for $20 AR about a month ago, after installing it to my new dimension 4550, it wouldn't read any normal cds I put in. It would open a file called "Track00", any idea was it did that? I even returned it, and got a new one, and it did that same, I made sure my jumpers, etc. was all correct. I even talked to the technical support from both MadDog and Dell, and they have no idea why it did that. Anybody got this best buy dvd rom to work with their Dell?

Well, just so you know the sale ends TOMORROW! So you better get going if you want this deal. Like I said before, not too bad paying $20 for a DVD-ROM. However, if you find some good research on it let me know, I would appreciate it.

So there you have it. Nice deal. Also, if you are looking for a good sound card BB has the Creative Sound Blaster Extigy normally for $149.99, now on sale for $79.99 after some instant and MIR. It's a nice sound card and will go nicely with my reciever and speackers...
