well to start with I did do my homework...ie I was standing in BB and was talking with the dept mgr about video cards and looking right at the sign and it said nothing about a rebate. He was the one that told me to buy it then for the regular $299 and bring it back today to get the $100 bucks back.
I'd say your deal beats the heck out of this oneOriginally posted by: SirDude
Gah, I just ordered my 9800 Pro from NewEgg for $110. Why is it that the good deals happen right AFTER I buy something. I got my 9700 Pro and then they hacked $15 off the price...now THIS!
BTW, nice find though
it was a joke on his typo. notice my wink?Originally posted by: Hoosier724
where on newegg are you finding a 9800 pro for that price?

Even better, you could get the Powercolor 9800pro retail for $208 @ gameve.com. Sales tax still applies for those in CA.
ATI RADEON 9800PRO 128MB OEM

You guys have a short memory. Stay away from gameve. Don't you remember the big fiasco with the BFG FX5900 where lot's of folks were getting used/returned cards from them. Read all about it _HERE_.Originally posted by: xenolith

After tax that's gonna bring you to around $270 (at 8%), then you have to wait for your rebate. So after 6-8 weeks the you'll get your price of $220
From newegg you can buy now (of course no tax for those not in jersey, ca, etc):
Powercolor 9800 Pro Retail for $219.00 free shipping and free gift
Sapphire 9800 Pro Retail for $219.50 free shipping and free gift
Ati Radeon Pro Retail for $228 free shipping and free gift
or from Mwave
Ati Radeon pro retail for $222.88 shipping included (to NYC) and no tax.
Any of those seems like a better deal to those not in CA, since you don't have to wait for the rebate.

Ahh but if you use your rewards card and a best buy credit card you get some more points good for discounts at BB and the interest is zero for 6 months.
Oh yeah, and shipping it to my house took 5 minutes!

Yep, I used $15 worth of rewards coupons that were about to expire to get my 9800Pro and earned another 8 bucks worth or so. This is a great deal on a great card.
Any deals comparing this retail ATI card to an OEM card is equal to a thread crap.
