Actually that VPR Matrix for $2400 - $600 in rebates = $1800 is pretty frickin hot, but it says min 3 per store , Sun , mon only.

If I were looking for a bargain for a top end notebook then I would be snatching this up, because you won't find more for your money anywhere.

Ya, I was just looking @ that. I need a new Optical mouse. Mine is acting weird and move a little weird.

I'm waiting for a combo Keyboard and optical mouse wireless. At compusa they have it for $50 but I don't think that is optical mouse.

I've wondered the same thing. A response at 3:30 probably belongs to someone in CA. But what about those 5AM posts?!?

obviously, i'm not gonna buy this laptop without a 3-yr extended warranty, but are they as good as dell when I do need them to resolve an issue with my laptop 2 yrs down the lane.... ?

Laptop magazine recently rated this as one of their "top" picks. The review that I read on it was pretty positive. It was slightly slower than some of the other laptops that were being tested at the time. However, it won praise for the excellent screen and its sound system - along with the design. Oh, one of the biggest gripes about the laptop in the review that I read was that it didn't come with CD writing software. The review pointed out that if the laptop had been equipped with Windows XP Professional, they could have used the built-in CD writing software. But, since it came with XP Home, that wasn't an option.

However, we all know that it's probably best to go out and get Nero anyways ... regardless of which CD writing software is included with any PC.

They ahve the Allinwonder 8500 for 199-30 instant-20 mailinrebate=150. Better price than you'll find it for online and this is retial box. I'm not enthused with allinwonders but someoen might be.
