When and where did they build the third one?

one at 59 and w. belfort to the southwest, one at 45 and west rd. to the north, and one at 45 and nasa pkwy to the southeast.

the first two are within the city limits, the second is in webster but it's close enough for gov work

I took my dad to a Verizon store to get a replacement phone. The customer service and inventory was horrible. We went across the street to BB and my dad got the phone he wanted for $100 cheaper, no rebate, and the employee was very helpful. I don't buy anything else from BB but I'll certainly go back there for mobile phones.

They should close them all and turn them into Frys and Microcenters.

I doubt we'll see any of that expansion. What is hurting BB is having so much oversaturation. What helps MC and Frys is that they literally target the largest epicenters of population. More than 80% of America I would think doesn't have access to one or the other in less than a 3 hour drive. Those two stores are so powerful because they concentrate themselves only in areas that are so densely populated, you can come up with enough hardcore geeks to generate revenue.

Protip: Stop treating your customers like they are idiots.

The average customer IS an idiot who hasn't done any research about the products they're buying.

That means that Best Buy sales people need to know their shit so that they can recommend what works best given the customer's needs, and not just push the highest priced or highest margin items to improve their profit numbers. Yeah, Best Buy's completely fucked because you KNOW that isn't happening ever.

Good riddance.

Actually, I was shocked when my boss came back from a BB couple weeks ago, with a external HDD that was same price as the cheapest we found online.
That was a first. Never before had I seen BB have something priced just as low as cheapest available online.
Hard drive prices have been wonky. Price changes effect online stores first.

I buy my music from iTunes/Amazon, games from Steam, computer stuff from local b&m that is no frills, but has good stock... I bought two TVs from BB though.

Closing 50 stores only results in the loss of 400 jobs? Eight employees per store? Something is beginning to add up about the BB experience.

LOL that was my first thought. Man... We are not right... Are we?

The only thing they are learning is that it is too expensive to have a B&M shop. So they will eventually turn into a Fry's(who is not doing all that great) or even an etailer.

Either way, jobs will decrease, and there will be more people living off unemployment, welfare, etc.

Who gives a fck? Those people will either learn new skills or choose to stay poor for their entire life. This is the same piss poor bleeding heart sht that people cried about when our manufacturing economy transitioned to a service economy.

Best Buy and its lost employees can either learn and adapt, or flounder in failure. It's that simple. Also, some of BB's prices are in line with Amazon. At least during the holidays, when I bought some electronics there and didn't have to risk not getting it in time for xmas.

I have recently bought a few things in Best Buy, and sruprisingly from the Magnolia thingy.

One was a Polk PSW110 subwoofer for $72 + tax. Second was a pair of Energy CB-10 speakers for $74 + tax. Both open box, both in perfect shape.

As for paying full price in that store? Hahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

True on both accounts. If you are shopping for something in Best Buy that isn't a specific sale/good deal you are targeting, you probably don't know WTF you're doing. Amazon and Newegg have 100% of the products in best buy for much cheaper.

And the workers there are absolute morons most of the time. Maybe not morons, but they know 0% about the products in their department. What do you expect for 8 bucks an hour though.

This, this, god damn THIS.

I've gotten flak for my "casualty of war" stance before, but this is exactly what I'm talking about. I'm sorry people are losing their jobs (really), but it's hurting Best Buy, so... WORTH IT.

Your casualty of war thing was broader than this example.
You're a bitter man. Did your parents kick you down the stairs daily?

Not at all, my parents were pretty caring. I have really extreme views on things and tend to lean towards a "whatever it takes" stance; pretty much always.

I wasn't always this way, and I don't know what changed, but ten years ago I was a totally different person.

Usually when I go to BBY there are more employees than customers. So....that is not going to end well. I'm not necessarily a stock analyst but it doesn't take a genius lmao.

gamestop seems to be busy every time i pass by

As soon as gaming switches to be primarily delivered through digital distribution Gamestop is toast. Done. Over. I can't imagine they don't know that.
