The techbargains news post that this thread and the one on FW were ripped from has misinformation either in the link text or the link url, because the link text and link url don't match up (52x24 drive vs. 52x32 drive). Too bad that the text was taken from tb with no more investigation, because it is most likely inaccurate. :| Oh well... guess I'll just have to wait until Sunday to find out.

EDIT: Thank you preCRT!! Now... I just hope you're wrong I want a Lite-on.

It is NOT a Lite-On, at least not here.
The burner is a Norcent [model # RW521/RW531]

and it's located on the last page of the ad

Well actually if you are into performance the Samsung model they have this week is a better deal. Samsung makes a excellent CD-RW and the one for the current week is $39.99 AR. The drive has 8MB of cache. I might run out and get that Samsung now if any are left.

For me, the norcent drive was a bad experience; I had that model from last black friday sale, and it broke in six months.

How are the TDK cd-r's in comparison to the Fuji?

$2.99 for a pack of 50 TDK's compared to $9.99 for a pack of 100 is a better deal if error free discs can be created.

Usually if there are multiple rebates and they all require the original barcode, you can send copies with the smaller rebates. Just include a note explaining the situation.

Looks like the original UPC from the labeling kit would be used for the $10 rebate and the original from the drive would be used for the $30 rebate, but I could be wrong.

Actually, Best Buy sometimes does give some great deals. The $9.99 Lite-On 52x32x52 deal Engineer gave us is a Hot Deal. It's 6:55am PT here. Why is the Best Buy site so damn slow? :|
