The CR-RW in So Cal is Norcent for $59.99 two MIR of $30 and $10 for a total net price of $19.99. Too much money floating around waiting for rebates for this brand of drive.

Agreed. So why don't you click on the link that enigeer gave us and get the Lite-On delivered to your door? The lite-on is not available in store. A little more money upfront but you get most back. ~$15 for a Lite-On drive seems reasonable to me.

You have to keep trying. Bestbuy is extremely busy right now. I got the same thing but after several tries, to calculated correctly and the order was placed.

FYI:

When ordering this kit, the drive and label kit show up separate on your receipt and e-mail confirmation:

Drive shows up as $59.99 and the Afterburner shows up as $10.00. This should make the rebate process easier!

Odd, cuz the Fuji $30 for 25 pack DVD+R is still showing up as 50 bucks online. Good thing OD has DVD+R at a good price

Ok I agree the Lite-On deal is a good one, could not find it earlier. However BB still is very stingy with the good deals compared to the others. I wish they would lighten up and have more deals.

Great deal...just jumped on it. No worries with the rebates...$30 one needs original UPC from CDR Drive, $20 one needs COPY of UPC from CDR Drive, and $10 one needs original UPC from CD Labeling Kit. I wish they sold the drive sepearate so I didn't have to worry about another rebate for something I don't need, but free label kit nonetheless. These items show up seperate on the invoice, so maybe if you call in for just the drive you can get it...I dunno.

They do have it without the labeling HERE. Pay $10 more with no extra $10 rebate. GO FOR IT. DUGH.

I managed to order one of the Lite-On drives this morning online. Great deal. I am posting a warning to those buying the 100 Pack Fuji's that Fuji has now started using Taiwanese discs. I was in a Best Buy this afternoon and they had the double 50 Pack spindle that was Made In Japan, but they also had some newer 100 Pack single cakes that were all marked Made In Taiwan. Looks like before very long you will no longer be able to get any Taiyo Yuden's in other brand's repacks. I was also at a Cicuit City today and they still had some 100 Pack Memorex that were Made In Japan TY's for $19.99 with no rebates if your local Best Buy only had the Taiwanese.

The only beef I have with the TY Fuji CDRs is the silk screen layout on the disc is not very efficient. The Memorex layout is much better.

Best Buy also had the 25 Pack Memorex +R 4X DVD discs on sale for $34.99 after $15 IR, but they had already sold out. They were nice enough to let me substitute the TDK 25 Pack +R 4X for the same price, Same Ricoh discs anyway so I was satisfied.

I think you guys probably mentioned it already, but the Lite-on drvie is mentioned in another thread saying THERE IS A LITEON DRIVE for $10 AR. With CD labeling kit also. Please check another thread yourself.

I was away from the computer over the weekend so I couldn't see why the Lite-On wasn't on the store shelves, with or without the label deal. I dunno, THREE rebates is getting hinky. I think I'm gonna stick with the "Verbatim" and call it a day.

Anyone who bought these TDK CDs please read the ATIP info to find out who makes the disks. There's a good chance these disks are Ritek. I've been doing some research and Ritek disks have been pretty high quality recently. Someone please post the info. Thanks.

The 50 pack of TDK's that I bought at Staples last week are Ritek. I still prefer Fuji's made in Japan CDs. My cd player doesn't seem to have to spin up and down as often when reading Fuji CDs.

Sure, I prefer the TYs also. But it sounds like Fuji may be phasing out the TYs. I want to find a reliable alternative. Ritek is getting decent comments at cdrfreaks now. I'll try some.
