The first item they list is Vista Home Premium upgrade for $160. I believe these are the speakers. Might not be a bad deal for those who feel then need to upgrade to Vista.

Even if it's +-3DB, which I really doubt, those have some pretty poor upper range reproduction. You could get much better speakers for less.

It is odd that they would embellish the bass response while leaving the upper end at 15khz.

Actually, it's $400 after instant savings with that printer. Not bad for a basic system. Throw in a BB coupon somewhere with your $150 or $100 Sony card and you're all set.

The ad should apply nationwide with the lower price. So lucky for you too!

I got in on this deal but better.

My BB had the deal as:

Buy Home Premium or higher and get:
1. Free speakers (as above)
2. $50 off any Western Digital Hard Drive (I got a 500GB internal SATA but you can apply this to anything, internal, external, even USB mini hard drives)
3. 25% off a second Logitech Accessory (I passed on this)
4. A free (up to $14.99 value) audio CD.
5. $20-30 off crappy software (I passed on this one too)

So for $402.xx (after tax) I got Ultimate Retail Upgrade (signed version because it was the same price - $259.99 - as the unsigned one), crappyish Altec Lansing speakers, 500GB SATA300 7200 internal WD hdd, and Blue Mountain - Foiled CD.

I'm happy with the deal, especially now that I can get on the Microsoft Family Home Premium deal.
