These speakers are excellent. USB power, clip-on, not tinny - what's not to like. I'm getting a 2nd set for a spare

doesn't matter, regardless of if the game worked or not it wouldn't be Gamestops fault if EA burned their game wrong... it may be GS' fault if they didn't exchange it and it WAS broken

So I have to ask, did you try returning your defective discs to best buy?

It might not be their "fault" but it is their "responsibility." They took his money for the product they're selling. He didn't purchase the item from the manufacturer. If the store doesn't want to take the responsibility for the items they're selling, they should shutdown immediately.

I'm really interested in the soundbar. My wife uses one of our laptops for netflix watching almost every night and the speakers on the laptop are not that great (dell studio laptop)

Yikes, this thread is getting out of hand quick. Simmer down people.
The majority of people don't want to pay for quality products, they want the cheapest shit they can get. That's what they get.
Hey he lucked out and got more than he paid for, and wanted to tell some people about how lucky he got. Big deal. He didn't steal anything, he gave them money, they gave him an item. If he had done some intentional trickery that would be different, but he didn't. And let's face it, this wasn't Goodwill. Anyone who's listened to a salesperson in the computer or home theater departments of Best Buy will know they do in fact use trickery to take money from people. Good for him I say.

There a huge difference between them being un informed and using trickery. A friend of mine when in to get an entire HTPC setup, his budget was high. They ended up selling him a Denon receiver that didn't do audio over HDMI. Were there tricking him into spending less? Because if they had told him he would have gladly spent 2x as much to get the right one.

Trickery? They are salesman ffs. If they explain a product to a customer, and then show its benefits...how is that trickery? Yes sir, this device will also watch your kids and wash dishes for you! :awe:

I received mine. Sound is an improvement over my laptop too. Decent bargain for a useful product. The speaker holds on to the bezel nicely.

ok fine. screw the store. they have no responsibility. its all on the manufacturer right? ok, well ive been building pc's well over a decade, and when a friend asks me to go to best buy and look for laptops, how did she end up with a single core processor? because the manufacture is SNAKEY AS HELL when it comes to selling their hardware. the Core2solo sticker looks the exact same as the Core 2duo. They got me and i was even well aware of these sneaky numbering schemes.

manufacturers have done it for YEARS with video card model numbers too... nobody can deny that.

you guys are really just arguing over nothing.

I picked up one of the tiny laptop soundbars in order to use up an old Best Buy gift card. The sound is actually quite good and can go very loud if need be.

I had some vain hope of mounting it on top of one of my monitors, but clearly this is completely intended for a laptop or most likely a netbook as the clip on the back only opens up a 1/2 inch at most and the usb cord is 3 feet on a good day. It also barely fits on my 17 inch Dell laptop.

So all in all, nice cheap set of speakers; I just have to figure out some way to mount them on one of my desktop monitors.

So you're saying they're sneaky because they got her to buy a slower, less expensive laptop? How exactly does that benefit Best Buy or the manufacture? Sneaky would be slapping a label on it that makes it seem better than it really is and selling it for more $$$.

Trickery not found.

thats exactly what happened. and I was the one who picked it out. i knew about the trickery that both the manufacturer and best buy play when selling their gear. I knew that I didnt want a single core cpu.... and yet, i still accidentally picked one out. the price wasnt really any cheaper, and honestly had i known i doubt we wouldve bought anything else (nothing there at the time really appealed to us).

the first thing i thought when we got home and i realized it was a core2 solo was "those fuckin bastards".

its really not an argument. just go to the store and look for yourself. it is NOT clear which laptops have single and which have multiple cores. hell best buy doesnt even list internal specs anymore. you really have to log online in the store and google up the info for the one youre looking at. i shouldve done that, but i shouldnt need to.
