Best Buy Maintenance Service Sucks

I have purchased HP Laptop from Best Buy, with in month time I have hardly used fro 10 hours, and it stopped reckognising hard drive. I called Best But supoort, and finally they asked me to go store for repair. After two week, they called me to say laptop model and maintenace contract not matching. After showing receipt, and other document they found their own mistake and now says I have to wait 3-4 weeks. I have given my laptop for repairing on April 19th and It will not be back unitilJun 1st. Till that time they can not do except bark (I have not seen politeness upto Manager) at customers.

What is a hot deal is Staples selling product replacement plans where you don't have to return the product (its not a warranty)...all you have to do is give the number a call and they will mail you a cash card if anything goes wrong with it 1 year after the shortest part of the manufacturer's warranty. Plans start from 5.99.

You forgot to mention this onlyapplies to items which originally cost less than $50.00 so hardly a "hot" deal. Direct from the Staples PRP pamphlet...

For covered items less than $50.00 we wil issue at our discretion a Staples merchandise credit equal to the original purchase price less any manufacturer or Staples rebates and promotions. For covered items over $50.00, excluding CTO computers and laptops, we will send you a prepaid USPS mailing label whcih you use to return the defective item to the nearest service center to the point of purchase. Once the center receives your item, they will either repair,replace, or issue you a prorated* refund based on the current value of the item covered. For CTO computers and latops, they will issue a prorated* refund once the defective item is returned their service center. This PRP does not replace any manufacturer warranty is applicable.

I hate it when the Bestbuy salesmen pressure customers to buy their service plans; especially customers who don't have a good grasp of English. When they pressure me, all I say is, "if it breaks, I'll just use my EE and CE degrees to either fix it myself, or turn it into an odd-shaped toaster." That usually shuts them up. Those service things are worthless anyway.

Too bad you didn't take it back before the first 2 weeks was up. policy from my understanding is that if you have a problem within 2 weeks they'll give you a completely new one. Was happy about that when my hp started smoking on the helpdesk. Was fun to watch, but still had to wait another 2 weeks for it to be shipped to me.
