Best BX motherboard

Can anyone recommend a good BX board? I've heard
that BX chipset is still better than VIA P133?

I would go with the MSI BXMaster. It's a slot 1 board but you can buy a slocket if you want to run a Celeron on it. I like this one because it is almost guaranteed to run stable when overclocked to 133 MHz. At 133 MHz the BX chipset is the highest performing chipset for any Intel processor bar none (not even the i820 with RDRAM can beat it). Also the BXMaster got great reviews all over the web. It's loaded with features that are great to have weather you're overlcocking or not. You can check out Anand's revew here. It won editor's choice here at Anandtech.

Probably ASUS CUBX is the best out there. Asus quality and stablity + BX and ATA66 performance.

But MSI BX master would be a good choice too if you have slot 1 processor.

Personally I used both Via and BX, and I could feel the performance diffrence (BX is better) although I like 1/2 agp divider VIA offers.

if you feel like rolling the dice - abit BF6. if you get a good one, they are one of the best boards hands down, the guys that are in the business around here will tell you they have more abit RMAs than any other, and i'm sure they do, but i've only ever used abit boards (except 1 msi) and they all work like a charm.

i would certainly not recommend the cubx if you are overclocking a celeron 566. it locks up at anything past 1.65 volts, no matter what fsb you run it.

it also has intermittent voltage problems (according to the included software) and doesn't always restart without a power down. this is the most troublesome piece of hardware i have ever used.

others seem to like it for overclocking piii's but i cannot recommend for celeron.

I have a MSI BXMaster, and I have to say that it is the best BX mobo out there. Lots of features, great stability, and good for the overclocker.

I would have to say the MSI BXMASTER, I had a Aopen a63pro and the MSI beats it hands down.

You might want to try the abit BX100 it's a fc-pga version of the BE6-II and it has ata-100.

Also the slot one BE6-II is supposed to be revised with ata-100 also.

i vote for BX Master..
but i have one problem with it..
i get an error when i boot
"unknown flash type"
but this error doesnt do anything.. any ideas??

I have had wonderful luck with the Asus CUBX but my Abit SE6 is really starting to grow on me after the SW bios release. The scores are almost identical now with a P3-866. With the SE6 I have it running at 975 without a problem right now.
