My trusty '89 323 5-door hatch, of course

Done ~70,000km since I bought it, drove across Aus 3 times in it, beaut little beach vehicle with the tyres right down, hit 175km/h in it...the list goes on

http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/dug777/323Beach.JPG

EDIT: put a new radiator in when I bought it (about twice the size, the original was NOT designed with 40'C plus days in mind!). Other than a few windscreens, a new rocker gasket (the oil leaks were annoying after a few years!) and usual oil/plugs/filters haven't spent a bean on it...

Car back in '07:

I've owned a bunch of mediocre crap (hey, most of them were 90's/early 2000's cars).
The one I enjoyed the most was a 95 Olds Cutlass Convertible. Fast, airy, get lots of looks, chicks love a drop top.

It would be a close battle between my G35

And my 1997 Eclipse GST spyder

The G35 is classy and has tons of power and drives wonderfully, but there is something about driving around with the top down that is impossible to explain to someone who has never owned a convertible.

1992 Honda Prelude 2.3si 5 speed. Car is near bulletproof. It may not look or sound good now but it has over 215k. Engine is still strong, clutch grabs like new, handles great, ac still blows ice cold. And has only needed brakes, oil change, 2 timing belt changes, and tires. Everything is so cheap for this car, I drive it the most.

I also currently own an 05 Acura TL 6spd with the best Navigation I've ever used. Only had it for a few years, so far it has not needed anything besides oil changes and front brake pads replaced. Time will tell, if it holds up as well as the prelude it will be the best ever.

68 camaro might be a contender if I ever get the money to fix it up. I drive the prelude the most because it's so nimble and the gas mileage is about 30 mpg. I have to think early 90's cars have to be the favorties from an efficiency point. They have lots of modern features without being over done with the electronics, that eventually break and are costly.

My current car, 2008 evo GSR. I just did some light mods-exhaust, tune, springs, and swaybars. It puts a smile on my face in the canyons and on the track.

I buy cars to own for a loooooong time so I've only had 2 (still have both) in my 16 years of driving... since I don't put on that many miles a year, I plan to have this baby for a long time even past warranty. Has been beyond great for me.

Lol no, I used to have a MKV GTI, I traded it in for a MKV Jetta TDI when the lease ended.

I had the option of of either a GTI or a loaded Jetta TDI for the same price, went with the Jetta.

oh, so how does the GTi compare to the TDi? I want a mk6 GTi and also think about a TDI. It would be a tough decision for me.

Definitely my Mark VIII. It's the first V8 I've ever owned, I love the size and the power of that beast. One of these days I'll get around to putting an aftermarket stereo/GPS unit in it, and then I'll have every creature comfort in a 1998 model that a new car has.

I'll also give an honorable mention to the Chrysler Concorde that my ex-wife took in the divorce, leaving me with the little POS Saturn.

I guess I just like huge cars.

If I could go back I would probably have sprung for a MK6 Golf TDI instead. The US market ones come with the sport suspension thats about 85% of whats in the GTI. Its about as close to the Euro market GTD as you can get.

I go back and forth though, some days I love my TDI, some days I hate myself for not getting another GTI.

The best car I have owned is my G35 coupe, although I think overall my Ram 1500 4x4 was more fun.

I would have to say a 1991 Honda Prelude 2.1 Si AWD (you don't see too many of the 2.1 around). It was my my high school sweet heart, and boy it was super freaking fun in the mountain. Light as a shoe and can turn on a dime due to the AWD, man I think I may have to find one in good condition somewhere.

I had one of those, it was not AWD though, it was FWD+AWS, which made it even more nimble for what it was.

you're full of crap. Prelude doesn't have AWD. It's FWD only.

I love my SRT-4 but I really miss my old Bug. So easy to work on, parts were cheap, reliable, great gas mileage, and just a fun car to drive.

06 GTO or 07 C6, depending on my mood that day.

I was going to say my '05 GTO or '10 C6. The GTO being black blended in very well and was one of the most comfortable cars to take on trips. The C6 on the other hand has all of the things that make a car fun to drive, but being red makes it stand out a little much at times. I can't be at a red light without every pickup truck revving their engine wanting to race.

Without a doubt my 06 toyota tundra double cab has been the very best vehicle I've owned. It's my 4th toyota and my 16th vehicle overall.

Reliability rise I would say my old 1993 Honda Accord EX. But best and most fun would be my current 07 Charger SRT8 hands down.

Worst car that I have ever own was a Saab 99 T, VW Scirocco, and VW Vanagon.

You had a Scirocco? I really wanted one when I bought my 76 Rabbit. BTW, that Rabbit was also the worst car I ever owned. Kinda says something for VW in the 70's.

I had a 79 Rabbit that was awesome. Of course any car you buy for $300, drive 18 months, and then sell for $300 is awesome. The Scirocco was a dog. The owner/driver probably would never notice but the rear window slope started well forward of the rear seat passenger position requiring passengers to lean forward the entire time they were in the car.
