Just curious.

Mine was a 69 scout.

Pro's

345 V8 power with pozi. Scout would go anywhere and throw 200ft rooster tails at Pismo Beach.

All aluminum body. Would not rust but hard to paint.

Had a roll cage. ) rolled it a couple times and with thick aluminum body and roll cage zero damage. Just roll it back over like an dune buggy.

Easy to work on.

Cons - weak ass drum breaks barley power assisted. Could not follow close.

Lots of road noise. Cars back then did not have very good sound or weather insulation.

Pic not mine. But you can see aluminum where paint is chipping.

My most memorable was my '92 Toyota Camry V6...but not because it was the best car...but because of all the experiences I had in that thing. It was my college road-trip car that I took all over the country. Got it with 90K on it...gave it to my sister with 230K or something like that. She finally gave it to charity with 290K and I'm sure it is still on the road somewhere.

My current one. Though say what you will about GM cars, I actually loved my '91 Grand Prix. Was by far the most comfortable road trip car I've ever been in.

Damn that's a lot of miles. That was when toy was still building the good ones. I got rid of mine like an idiot due to a woman, my wife.D: I'm sure scout would have lasted forever too with proper repairs and maintenance.

Yeah...it was beyond bulletproof. Drove decently too for what it was. I still have fond memories of that car. Nothing like cheap gas and being in college with plenty of free time and the ability to miss tons of classes.

Scouts are tanks. I've never met anyone that actually owned one and didn't have anything good to say about it.

My favorite car was my 1982 Buick Riviera. Drove like a cloud, tons of room, super comfortable.

Front wheel drive V8

Size rules! I had a 73 501 cuin eldo which was front wheel drive. My first car at 16. Trashed it. We took a torch and made it a vert and painted it psychedelic colors. Can't say I liked it but it packed em in. 4 across front seat 4 in back no problem. I could put short boards in the trunk and probably still a fridge.

I've only got 2 cars, a 2000 Jetta 1.8T that's been solid as a rock (got it in 2004/2005 with 33k miles and has about 140k miles on it now), and my project car, a 1978 Datsun 280Z.

I love the Z, but the Jetta has been remarkable good to me (knock on wood).

A sorry excuse for a car.

Oh, and for my answer...well since I've only driven an Amigo and a Jeep CJ7, I say the Jeep for the sheer fun factor.

Amigos are hugely popular in HI like national car or something. You see them lowered and lifted with V8s and heavy duty drive trains and everything in between.

My current car - 2008 Fusion V6 SE. Just enough power to be fun, great handling for a family sedan, decent brakes, and no issues whatsoever. Overall, just a pleasure to drive.

I'm sure the Mustang will replace that notion as soon as it's on the road.
