best card for under $100? expecially for open GL (counterstrike)

need help in choosing a video card, as usual im turning to this community for advice.
only restiction is that this card works really well with openGL for a game like counter stirke and let it be under $100.

see the problem is most benches ive come across does not use counter strike as the test.


anyhows your advice would be greatly apreeciated

radeon 8500LE?
radeon 9200
radeon 9000 pro?
fx 5200?
Ti200?

all with 128mb

Go the the for sale/trade forum and you should beable to find a nice geforce 4ti for under a 100.

Actually lots of pricewatch stores have it for under a hundred as well. Just check pricewatch.com.

With counterstrike I'd stick with an NVidia based card. Radeon cards don't like the Half Life engine too well, or maybe Half Life don't like radeon cards.

A ti200 is a geforce3. A ti4200 is a geforce4. They are completely different cards. If you look around for deals you can find new ti4200's for $100. You can also get a refurb from either newegg or the fs forum for a bit cheaper.

agreed...i think anything less than a ti4200 would be a waste of money
with a ti4200, a fast processor, and enough ram you should pretty much always get 100fps
...i have a p4 2.4c and a ti4200 and cs runs great...70-100fps on most maps (of course large and/or badly designed maps with high r-speeds can drop the framerate below 70).
