Here's another vote for the Antec SX1040 (I have the black version). Fantastic case. Tons of room, and four case fan mounts built in. Includes 2 exhaust fans with it. 400W PSU. Plus, it's got a neat door to hide your drives, and it looks really sleek.

I'm about to buy my Antec1040 from newegg.com. With the 400w PS it runs about $125 or so...

Sure, 300 would be enough for almost everything. But I opted for the bigger PSU so I don't have to worry about power at all. I'm adding a 3rd HD when it comes in the mail, and I've got 7 fans total in my system (including the proc, chipset, and GPU fans), and who knows...maybe I'll add more some day. It's nice to know I don't have to worry about a lack of power.

I know you already ordered but I just recently bought the SX1240 with the 400w PSU. Wonderful case, HUGE. Just not good if your planning on going to a lan party.

Antec 1040
Search for sx1040. You'll find both the beige and black case's.
Here's a link for the best price I could find for the Antec case. I'm thinking of getting one too.

I have both the Enermax 330W SX10x0 version from Newegg for $114 shipped and the ANTEC Sx1040 from EMS computing for $130 shipped. I like the finish on the ANTEC better, but you cant go wrong either way. Just an amazing case (except for the tiny reset button) otherwise, you can do no better in a non aluminum case. Add some panaflo L1A's (less then $3ea.) all around and you have a quiet case to boot.

Yes, I saw the 1040sx antec case, in black at compusa a couple of months ago, I didn't put much thought into it so i didn't even realize how cheap it was.

I will go tomorrow to see if it is still 99.

It's actually not a 1040B, it's a 1035B made especially for CompUSA. It comes with the 350W Antec PSU. That's the PSU with the 2 fans like the Enermaxes have. I just built my dad a system using the SX635 case with the same PSU and it is very quiet.

Also, the $99 price was a sale-with-rebate price 2 weeks ago that is no longer available. I think the regular price is $139, but that's comparable to a case via mail-order with shipping charges.

That's more like it. Now I remember seeing it before. Rebates suck when they don't offer insane discount potential over other vendors. Buying a 1040 straight out should be around $125 without rebates delivered to my door with no tax through emscomputing. I don't think I would deal with rebates to get a price of about $110 after tax on the case with only a 350 watt PS. I purchased an 840 through emscomputing for $119 delivered. That was that best price I found on the best case I've owned. The chieftech equivelant looks very tasty though with the extra HD cage. I think I might have gone that route if I had noticed. I can't imagine using more than three HD's to make use of the second drive cage. In the Antec 840 case I have:

Plextor 24x CDR
Toshiba 16x DVD
Sound Blaster Live Drive front panel
Floppy drive
USB ports in a 3.5" opening
2- 80 gig WD 7200 RPM drives
1-45 gig Maxtor 7200 RPM drive

It's maxed out...Every drive bay full. If I add a DVD-Recorder, I'll ditch the Live Drive. Not a biggy, I haven't used it in months. The SX-1000 series has an extra drive cage, and an extra 5.25 bay. I didn't like the idea of the door covering the bays on the sx-1000 series. Both cases are the same dimensions. I'm gonna build another 'puter within a month or so. I may get a sx-1000 series if I warm up to the front door.

CHIEFTECH Workstation Tower Model DX-01W-400W; AMD Approved Power Supply Front Accessible: 3 x 5.25", 2 x 3.5", Internal: 3 x 3.5". Power Supply: (P4) 420 Watts Model# CWT420 ATX 12V- No Case Fan! Manager Special Model#: DX-01W-420W FedEx Saver Shipping $19.00

JameyF, the door on the SX1000 cases is easily removed, and although it doesn't look as "finished," it does avoid accidentally opening a drive with the door closed. With or without the door, I find the Antecs ugly anway--ugly, but effective.

Ugly? I can agree with the door off of the sx-1000 series, but I'll take the looks of the Antec sx-800 or 600 series over the Enlight or aopen stuff I've had in the past and pay more for it. Better looks, better cooling, better build. I bet there are some really nice cases out there when you're paying big bucks for them, but antec and their equivelants can be had for right at or below $100+ shipping for the 800 and 600 series. with nice power supplies.

I have build a couple of PC's for clients using this case here and here. They seem to really like them. They are roomy and pretty sturdy. I think they are $55 from newegg with a 300 watt enermax PSU. Shipping is $8. Not a bad deal!
