What would you say is the best case in the world for looks AND useability?

Mine would be a Thermaltake Xaser III which can be found Here

Views on why you think it would be this case would be good as well

Thanks in advance

Eh... I don't like large cases anymore...

Kingwins are certainly are well constructed and good looking.

i think the kids like the Xaser and it's fancies.

PPl like me (late 20's ) appreciate the subtle beauty and solid construction of Lian Li's and Kingwins...

I am 18 so i am not really a kid BUT i agree, i like the "subtle beauty and solid construction of Lian Li's and Kingwins" and i also like the Antec case's, but i still love the Thermaltake Xaser III, it just looks mean. the perfect case to have a 'Beast' inside

Beautiful! Where can you find one of those?

Monarch Computer. Only $250. Personally, I have an Antec Plusview 1000, but would buy the Lian-Li if I could justify spending that on a case.

VapoChill PE Titanium (only because it houses a nice cooling system)

Otherwise, I like the AMS gTower and the Globalwin Aluminum case with 120mm fan mounts.

I would rather spend $80 getting the Enermax equivilent to the XaserIII (same chasis from the same supplier, only major difference is the front bezel) and spend the money that I saved getting a Radeon 9800Pro

There is hardly ever ONE best of anything - there is only the best for your purpose. I like the uniqueness of the i-Tee from Lope. AFAIK, this isn't available in the US yet.
I also like the functionality of the Yeong Yang YY-022x Cube server case (~$200. shipped). Here is the site of a guy that has modded it: Borg Cube .
For me, the perfect case would be one of the Compucase Chen Ming variants - see them on newegg.

I spent a lot of time trying to find something better than the Lian-Li PC-80 I picked up at CompUSA. Came with a Windows and 5 fans unlike what is posted at the Lian-Li site. A bit expensive at $149 compared to others but excellent quality. All thumbscrews and the mobo tray slides out without a problem. The Cooler Master is my second favorite as I was torn between this and the 201C-SX2 but I liked the extra fan and easier to remove front filter on the Lian-Li.

When he mentioned "kid", I dont think he was referrring to 8 and 9 year olds.

Usually teenagers in high school and college freshmen are attracted to bright fancy bells and whistles like you mentioned.

I was one of them one time or another.

I must be getting old but I still have yet to find a more subtl beauty than Lian Li.

wow. I went to that borg mod page, and that was aight, but his gallery had some unbelievebly good stuff! Gallery - The two cube designs (one custom made from metal sheets, and the other is completely mirrors with what looks like air intake on the middle... all I can say is wow. I'd fork out a couple hundred bucks for that mirror case. It's a work of art (and it would also make for an awesome wireless file server in the middle of my living room).

ok, so the awesome mirrored one appears to be a highly polished "next cube", which was a mythical MAC creation that must have only seen limited production. Chances of me getting my hands on one are pretty much nill. Are there any other cases that look similar (ie: modern, sleek, slightly art-deco, without obvious gaping holes, maybe with similar ventalation, and most importantly not the standard rectangular proportions)?

Hey no one has mentioned the ever awesome Enlight 7237. (j/k)

I like the new Alienware cases. Wish there was a mainstream source for them.

Too much "fancy" stuff. I am sure it will be widely available soon enough though.
