I've always hated using these because they were uncomfortable, anyone have some recommendations as I'd like to put the MP3 player back into use and the radio stations here suck and I'd rather use my own music.

They always used to annoy me and wanted something comfortable that sounded good just walking around.

I used to have a good set of noise canceling headphones I bought a few years ago but don't need them after I left that job, something earbud wise that is comfortable and has good definition would be nice.

Someone at work who is a complete ass bitches on a daily basis just because he should be retired all ready and just wants to bitch about me having a radio low, I want to remove that from the equation and still flip him off.

Stupid shit spends most of the day pissing around not doing much of anything than bitch about shit, I keep telling him I'm going to buy him Depends and Infamile, but atm I'm still forced to work near his ignorant ass.

Sad part was he was the one started this shit about the second day I started working there about a year and a half ago and he got an attitide back then and started shit back then and I've been ready to hit him upside the head with a hammer ever since.

Almost did the other day, I've been removing his reasons to bitch for a long time I'll remove the last one.

Don't laugh, but I wanted something yellow and bought a pair of these cheap Skullcandy earbuds from Best Buy the other day for $15... and warning I'm not an audiophile... but I'm really surprised that they sound pretty great to me and feel pretty nice. And I love the flat cable, I can squish these up in my pocket and the unravel easily.

These $15 earbuds are replacing my $80 Ultimate Ears.

earbud / IEM comparisons can pretty much start and end with this thread:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/multi-iem-review-318-iems-compared-narmoo-r1m-added-07-03-14-p-936

This guy knows his stuff, and the purchases I've made based on his recs are spot on. Don't let the high price of some of these scare you off, he does a lot of reviews on sub-30 dollar headphones too, so give it a look (i like the interactive spreadsheet for a quick reference).

I'll have to look around around tomorrow more, getting late here.

You're very welcome!

Around the $100 price point, I use the Shure SE215 IEMs and they're killer (I use them for both music performances for onstage monitoring, as well as my daily commute on the train, and they're great for both).

My favorites for both sound and comfort are the Phiaton PS-210. They are a "half in ear" design so they have a bit larger driver than standard in-ear styled headphones. Amazon often has them for a good price (well under $100).

I recently ordered the Velodyne Vpulse earbuds. I'm coming to believe I'm a basshead, and these are good for that so far. Also, many sites reviewed them at $99 price point, and they're now $54 on amazon.

the triple.fi pro 10's are amazing. for quite a while they were under $150 at Amazon, now they are back to close to $300. amazing sound and in loud environments because they are IEM they drown out noise so you don't have to harm your ears by blasting the choons.

For never having an aftermarket IEM, when I bought this little Sansa Fuze + years back, I had only used em on a noise canceling headset, and hadn't used them at all in awhile.

Bought it refurbished off the Egg for about 30 bucks for an 8 Gb years ago, this little MP3 has held up well all things considered

These little Brainwavz M2s are surprising nice so far, seeing how they break in.

Thanks again for the help and the site info, might even try a few others out basshead types in the future, the bass on these is pretty nice for the price.

Listening to Pinball Wizard with EQ on Jazz, Entwhistle sounds great with em

I've been just letting them play cranked up on the desk on non-stop on high and recharging em, trying to burn em in a bit.

Keep turning em down now they still sound good on half.

I have trouble finding something comfortable in my ears, I put the small tips on them and barely notice they are even there.

Starting to spam a lot a guess I'll leave this here and move on

Has anyone tried these: Logitech Ultimate Ears 500vm Headset w/On-Cord Mic Controls For Smartphones

Adorama is selling them on eBay for $14.99 shipped.

I'd buy these from Monoprice and buy a bunch of different tips/sleeves on Amazon or some other site to figure out what works best. When you find good, comfortable tips, they make even inexpensive IEMs way better than any of the stock earbuds that ship with devices these days. You have to find something that makes a good seal but isn't uncomfortable, and usually that won't happen with the one-size-fits all earbuds.

Don't know if this specific one fits (most tips are interchangeable between most IEMs), but I prefer triple flange tips:

Another inexpensive one you can buy in a lot of stores like Best Buy or Walmart are JVC Gummy Plus. Those and the Marshmallows are good, inexpensive earbuds from JVC. I've gone through a lot of earbuds (end up losing or damaging in some way) so I like to get cheap ones I don't have to worry about replacing, but still sound good.
