This is a tough one since I have seen well over 200 concerts, 27 of which were Metallica. Metallica in Hershey park on the Evening with Metallica Tour would be high on my list. And even though its really not my daily listening music, Elton John and Billy Joel in Giants stadium was pretty awesome.

Prince.

No concert even came close to this concert I saw last August.
I second the motion. I saw him Sunday in Aug at Wachovia Center Philadelphia.

dave matthews band. i've seen them 4 times.

only one concert wasn't that great. they played all of dmb's new songs, and the newest album wasn't really mainstream yet. i went to another concert at the same location 2 days later, and they played all of the classics. the sky also opened up that night. we got soaked. but it was a great concert

Chevelles Ho Ho Homecoming house of blues Chicago
All I can say is that Chevelle rocks, I like damn near every single song off of both of their CD's and I couldnt believe that they sounded multitudes better live. I was like 20 feet away and it was just awsome

I'm going to have to go with Guns N Roses with Skid Row. We went to a riot and a concert broke out that night. Once in a lifetime experience there.

Huey Lewis and the News at the Oakland Coliseum back in 1986 or 1987 New Years Eve party. My niece got everybody's autograph back then and enjoyed the party afterwards...

Its a toss-up-
Bad Religion was the most intense concert I've been to- I saw them in a tiny club that holds only about 130 people (Bottom of the Hill in S.F.)

Gwar was the most fun I ever had at a show back in 1994- my friend was even fed to the World Maggot!

Metallica - Earls court London - 19-12-03.....

It was just a chilled gig, but at the same time a huge party, plus the day in london toped it off.

Every RUSH tour since Moving Pictures rawk'd....caught their second or third gig on the Vapor Trails tour and it was their best sound/performance ever.

Those guys overclocked!

Either Soulive (best as a trio, my favorite might be the haunt in Ithaca NY Summer 2000)
or Bela Fleck & the Flecktones (my favorite is probably Buffalo, NY in Spring 2001)

Most mind-expanding (even without drugs) musical event - Berkshire Mountain Music Festival 2000
Saw Moe., Flecktones, Soulive, Deep Bannana Blackout, all sorts of other crazy stuff

Pink Floyd Cleveland July 1976
Grateful Dead Raleigh July, 1990
Grateful Dead Greensboro March 31, 1990
CSN&Y Phoenix January 2000

Probably Rush in September of 1977 in Portland (A farewell to Kings tour). Seems like it was 3 nights and I caught the 2nd show. I've seen alot of shows, but that sticks out as memorable even today (and Rush never disappoints!) Incredible musicianship all around, an always great drum solo masterpiece from Neil, and Geddy's voice was still hitting the hurtin' notes....

Ah, too many to name. Ramones, Dizzy Gillespie, Etta James, Wynton Marsalis, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, REM, Crosby Stills & Nash, Michelle Shocked, Psychedelic Furs, Allison Brown, Joan Armatrading, About 9 Times (bar band in TX back in the 80s), Violent Femmes, Eagles, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, They Might Be Giants. There are more but I am drawing a blank.

this should be easy (i've only been to 2):
Built to Spill. The Black Heart Procession opened for them. It was an awsome show. Just wish they had played Cortez the Killer! *sigh*
I envy some of you SOOOOOO much! All these great bands you've seen play! If you actually went to a Pink Floyd show back in the day, you are eternally AWSOME and don't let n e one tell you different!

I've only started going to concerts recently... but the two i've seen have been AMAZING. Got lucky enough to see The Pixies on their reunion tour on 9/24 in Berkeley, was okay but they seemed worn out. My favorite show was the PJ Harvey show in SF at the Warfield on 10/21, it was just great.

F'in A! you got to see the Pixies! They came through here, but tickets were sold out like a month before I even heard!
