Radiohead 10/03 in Atlanta. I've heard a bootleg of their Coachella performance and it was even better.

They re-work many of their songs with new beats for the live shows. I went expecting it to be somewhat lethargic but it was almost like a night club with the light show.

It's just Prince is way more talented. He can play guitar better than anyone I've seen live and I have heard Jimmy Page, Santana, Jeff Beck, and Gilmour live and Prince blows them away.

On top of that Prince plays bass guitar better than anyone I have ever heard. Plus he sings better, can dance really good and was very entertaining. He intereacted with the crowd better than anyone I've seen and it was just a damn good time. Did I mention he wrote and produced a ton of awsome songs? The guy is just an awsome talent and on par with Michael Jackson.

i can agree with that. i have uh 'while my guitar gently weeps' from i think a george harrison tribute concert, and prince on the guitar is :Q

Prince.

No concert even came close to this concert I saw last August.

Yes indeed, one of the greatest live acts. I've been to several Prince concerts and he never dissappoints, but the Musicology tour this year was extra special. It was in the round and he had a great connection with the crowd. I caught it in Biloxi, Mississippi. Great show, and, the #1 grossing tour of 2004.

1) Sigur Ros
2) Tool
3) Radiohead
4) Bjork
5) Tool
6) Sigur Ros
7) Radiohead
8) Smashing Pumpkins

I've also seem some killer opening sets by Ozma, Recover, and My Chemical Romance. When My Chemical Romance played NO ONE knew who they were, they were just another opening act on a small tour. They came on and in the first song, the guitarist kicked the singer into the crowd, where he hit his face on some girl's head. He was gushing blood from his mouth the entire set. Let's just say I bought their CD.

Yeah, too many to choose from, but top of the list would be:

A Perfect Circle - Tweeter Center Camden NJ
Muse - Electric Factory Philadelphia
Marilyn Manson - Electric Factory Philadelphia
Taste of Chaos Tour - Tweeter Center Camden NJ
Evanescence
Mindless Self Indulgence

I dunno, too many to mention over too many years.

I always wanted to see Manson during the Antichrist Superstar phase. Bitter that I missed it.

Also, is your sig Wendy The Retard?
- Stern was playing the tape today of when Wendy the Retard had called the power company after her power had been knocked out. Wendy was wishing for her dog to rape her. What a tool. ;roll;

Red Hot Chilli Peppers (only concert I've been to, but I was so close I could almost touch the stage. There was a very short, almost midget short, couple in front of my wife and I and then us. Only the barricade and a few security guys separating us from the stage. So loud we couldn't even hear on the way home.

Wow that would sound good! The guy can play pretty much any instrument. I saw Sign'O the Times which was on hbo or one of them of his 1987 tour and he was playing drums in that show.

I can't really say enough good things about the Prince concert I went to. He even gave away a free CD to everyone which was his full Musicology CD which came out last year. I thought that was pretty cool even though the price was added in with the ticket. Still a nice surprise!

Must have been a great show. It was a few years before Rob Halford came out of the closet.

Vote for Change at the Excel Center:

Bruce Springsteen
R.E.M.
Bright Eyes (who im seeing again a week from today)
John Fogerty

and the best part, Neil Young just decided to show up and do "All Along the Watchtowers" with Springsteen and then at the end they did "Keep on Rockin' In the Free World" with everyone out on stage. Say what you want about the politics of the event, but i dont think ill ever see a better concert in my life, let alone for the $25 i payed for my ticket.

Damn. Beat me too it.

The Rush concerts I've been to are by far the best shows I've ever seen. The best I saw was the 30th Anniversary Tour this past year. 3 hours of music, 30 songs - 1 from every album except one. Mystic Rhythms was pure bliss. The first show of the tour was here in Nashville and they rehearsed here for 5 days.
BTW, check this out.

Queensryche - Building Empires tour. They did the ENTIRE Operation Mindcrime set from start to finish. Geoff Tate sounds AWESOME live!
I saw that tour (and two other 'ryche tours). It's very near the top of my list. Did you know they're currently touring and playing the whole Mindcrime album again, plus some songs from the Operation:Mindcrime II album, due out this year? Well the tour is at least halfway through. Link.

After Rush, the best concert I've seen is Toto. The recent Journey shows are right up there with it (I never saw them in the 80's). Van Halen. Def Leppard's Hysteria tour. Many shows that I've thought were really good. The Tesla/Great White show I saw about 15 years ago was really good. The Outfield, Duran Duran, Joe Satriani. The Human League show I saw in '98 was really cool. The way the stage was set up, I felt like I was back in the 80's watching a show.

There are some that would problably be my favorites that I never got the chance to see. Depeche Mode is one. Many more.

Some of the best shows I've seen were small venue/club shows. The Fixx, Joan Osborne, Colin Hay and Eric Johnson were all really good club shows. I'm looking forward to The Finn Brothers in February.

Honerable mentions to Garbage, Cinderella, Poison (even though I hated them in the day, I had a blast at their concert a few years ago), Dokken, Psychedelic Furs, Fleetwood Mac, Howard Jones, Peter Frampton, Kiss. And I'm ashamed to admit (I can't stand Courtney Love), but we had a blast at a Hole concert. I've seen Metallica. It was 'meh'.

BTW, I snuck into a prince show once and saw the last couple songs. It actually sounded pretty bad. And I actually like Prince somewhat (have a couple CD's). May have been the large building.

Damn, I wish. I'm thinking of seeing them again this year. They're scheduled to play early July in the brand new ampitheater across the river in Vancouver, WA. Should be nice.
Unfortunately, those are 2004 dates.

Damnit!

Still, Rush needs to seen to be believed. Few people seem to realize just how great they are until they see them in concert. Amazing. IMO, God Himself could not play the drums better than Neil.

btw, I have seen many concerts but the best overall concert I have seen was Neil Young/Pearl Jam/Blind Melon on (IIRC) Labor Day 1993.
