I've also seem some killer opening sets by Ozma, Recover, and My Chemical Romance. When My Chemical Romance played NO ONE knew who they were, they were just another opening act on a small tour. They came on and in the first song, the guitarist kicked the singer into the crowd, where he hit his face on some girl's head. He was gushing blood from his mouth the entire set. Let's just say I bought their CD.

sorry for posting again but i skipped a few ealier...

YOU have the best list ever. I wish i could see sigur Ros but they will prob never come to the US again...Bjord would be awseome..and Smashing pumpkings aint gonna happen.

The best concerts I have seen:

Blues:
John Lee Hooker

Jazz:
Dizzy Gillespie

Rock:
The Who

Classical\Romance: A toss up between two:
Leonard Bernstein conducting Beethoven's ninth symphony.

Mahler's ninth symphony, I do not remember who conducted this. There were three choirs. It was amazing.

It's just Prince is way more talented. He can play guitar better than anyone I've seen live and I have heard Jimmy Page, Santana, Jeff Beck, and Gilmour live and Prince blows them away.

Prince is good, but deffinitely does not blow away the other guitarists you listed.

I would say the best concert I have been to was probably Van Hagar tour over the summer followed by the iron maiden/motorhead/dio tour. Both shows were awesome.

I kid you not! I knew he was good but I had no idea how much talent he has.

Also worth noting is that Jazz is generally harder to play than rock and roll and Prince excels at playing all kinds of music including jazz, rock, blue, you name it.

The man is an awsome talent.

His (Prince) drummer was amazing! His whole band was so damn good!

On top of the best sounding it was also the most fun concert by far I have ever been to.

It was awsome when a couple of his band members did Georgia on my mind by Ray Charles while the others were taking a breather.

Ahh yes, best blues show I ever saw.

A triple bill with B.B King, Stevie Ray, and Buddy Guy!

I plan on seeing some live classical music at some point. I have some classical CD's and they have a nice sound to them.

Damnit!

Still, Rush needs to seen to be believed. Few people seem to realize just how great they are until they see them in concert. Amazing. IMO, God Himself could not play the drums better than Neil.
Yeah, those dates were the 30th Anniv. tour. I'm sorry you missed it.
Neil Peart truely is the best drummer in the world, rock or otherwise.
Neil is #1 on this list, Geddy Lee is #7 on this list, and Alex Lifeson is #34 on this list (though I think he's better than some above him). That tells something about Rush.

Best: Simon and Garfunkel (Old Friends tour... saw them right before Christmas in MSG last year), and Marilyn Manson (Mechanical Animals tour, when Twiggy was still with the band. they were pretty awsome).

Worst: Radiohead. just a very boring concert... the opening bands were really great, but Radiohead live proved to be a disappointment. I walked out 3/4 of the way through.

to be honest, it's kind of difficult to actually remember the actual concert a few days afterwards...(that includes concerts where I only had two or three beers)...

that being said, I remember Iron Maiden back in their prime with the huge stage shows and Eddie were pretty good shows....

I'm almost afraid to mention my concerts. I might get hatemail. I'll only say that it is a boyband with 5 members and I paid a pretty penny to see them...more than once, at that.
