Best courier for US -> Canada shipments?

The items I'm planning to have shipped total about 1.5/2lbs. The items are not fragile so I'm not concerned with how it's handled, no risk of damage. It's arrival time is no large concern of mine, but the sooner the better. So, with all that in mind, what would be the cheapest way to get a 2lb package to Canada?

I am curious about this too...

Edit: Man, I guess I should've waited a few more minutes for my bump. Nobody can help us out?

People around here said that USPS is the only way to ship your shit to Canada, since FedEx and UPS rape YOU (not the guy in Canada) on customs.

edit: btw, just so that you know, 2 lb is not bulk

Even if it's declared a gift? Hm...reading up on the UPS website, a 2 pound shipment via First-Class Mail International should be about $8.26. Does that sound right to anyone else?

i deal with UPS for standard US inbound/outbound shipments several times a week, they tend to do an OK job once you're set up with them properly.

Gift or no gift, you pay customs, I think. If gifts were allowed free, then everybody would have been marking packages as gifts and not complained about customs.

Thing is, you ship the package for $8.26 (price is right too - I shipped around 2 lb package TX -> California for $10), and AFTER that they (FedEx/UPS) send you bill for customs!

Disclaimer: I never shipped anything to Canada.

I believe, though I can't be entirely certain, that I've received at least one package from the US, marked as a gift with no declared value, at no cost.

FedEx is better then UPS for customs, in regard to price. They usually don't "rape" you. USPS is the slowest, & very concerned with what what is in the box. I'm not sure on their border charges though. UPS is probably the fastest. If you can get around the customs charges, I would go UPS. Don't do DHL.
