Right now I am using the P.O.S stock AMD cooler here are my temps with the processor O\clocked to 2100 mhz

Idle 43C
Load 60c

When it gets up to 60C she will reboot.

What is the best heastsink/Fan that will give me the best performance for the cash?

TIA

SLK900, aren't they a bit expensive? not to mention without a fan as well... You might end up paying more for the HSF than the CPU?

Naw not even close. teh 2500+ is $84 and the slk-900 is $50 and a good fan is $10. But I would suggest the 800. It performs very close and is about $10 less. If you are on a tight budget then the sk-7 is also a great choice.

800a w/a fan that matches your tastes of noise/cfm
or 900a or 900u or 800u or 947u or even sk7.

All perform within 1-2degree C of each other.

well only if you compare with the non oc cpu price

the better the slk cooler you get, the lower speed fan you can get away with

Thermalright slk-800u (check for motherboard compatability)
YS-Tech variable speed 80mm fan.
idle: 38-41, load 45-50 @ 1.775 vcore (Barton 2500+ @ 2220mhz)

I am replacing my YS-Tech fan next week with a Thermaltake Smart fan II
I installed one of these on my daughter's TBred 1800+ and liked it so much right now I think it is the only fan for me.
I like the thermistor that regulates fan speed. You can mount it to the pcb underneath the cpu. (It has very thin leads that won't interfere with proper mounting of the cpu)

I have a CoolerMaster Aero 7+ ordered for my wife's PC (another TBred 1800+) I'll let ya know how that one works out...

The SLK 'sinks are good, but too narrow to make the most out of a large (quiet) fan. I have the SLK900U and saw no improvement moving from a 2600RPm 80mm fan to a 2800RPM 92mm fan. It turned out that the optimal performance/noise tradeoff (for ~2-2.5Ghz) seems be an 80mm fan @ 2600RPM.

IMHO, best bang for the buck that's also quiet is an AX-7 with a 92mm fan on it. Use whatever you want to adapt the 'sink to a 92mm fan... common/cheap metal household wiring straps will work if you only want to drill a hole, not fab an entire adapter-plate. Of course it's up to you to choose the right fan or throttle it as needed.
