Whats a good credit card now a days. haven't seen any good updates on CC sites in a while.

Im looking for something with some rewards that I can use later.

I have a starwood Amex already, so maybe a good airline card..who's points don't expire..

Anyone know of any?

Please dont say capitol 1. I've had some bad experiences and wont ever go back.

Did you even consider looking around yourself?

Amex Delta Sykmiles, Juniper US Airways, BoA has worldpoints and premier pass, etc.etc.etc.

Go to each major issuer website and look around their credit card section.

Open a second checking account and put $1000 in it. Then bill yourself monthly for any charges you accrue over that month brining your balance back up to $1000. Don?t get caught in the CC game, their is no good CC. If you can?t pay cash for it you can?t afford it.

The idea of a "best" credit card doesn't exist. What is best for me won't be best for you. I'll let others list a bunch of cards that are good and you can pick the best from that pile. Of course, half of the replys won't even be that good, they'll just link you to other forums (not even which thread in that forum because they can't be bothered to do anything that helpful). But, for the average person, Consumer Reports did the study and said Discover gave the most back. You probably aren't an average person though.

I don't see the reason to want an airline card. Cash in your hand never expires. Get lots of free cash, and buy an airline ticket if you want one.

short answer to your question is IT DOESN'T EXIST.

it comes down to what you need. if you want cash back for every day purchase (EDP, groceries, gas, drug store), chase freedom card give 3%. if you are ok with points, citi diamond preferred gives 5% on EDP.

How about companies though? I like citi, I don't have any negative feelings towards chase, I hate HSBC and Capital one. Any other good companies to deal with?

They can be very useful if you're smart about it. I was getting 5% off all gasoline purchases, all grocery store purchases, with my citi dividend. But they recently cut that % down, nice while it lasted and they never made a cent off of me.

Pretty sad responses here. OP, check the CC thread on FW. I know, it's too long and takes a while to go through. A while back, cards like the Chase PerfectCard were all the rage. AMEX has a cash rebate card too that doesn't seem to be widely advertised. This may all have changed now and there probably new popular kids on the block.

Chase Freedom promo gave me $250. That + the 3% cash back makes it the best card in my wallet at the moment.

REMINDER: Pay off your bills in full; if you can't do that, then you should cut back on your spending. If you do this, you won't have to worry about crazy interest rates.

I have 2 credit cards that I consider good for me. BofA Platinum @7.9% APR and a Motley Fool Card @6.9% APR. Those are my only cards I ever use!
