Best currently available A64 O/C board ?

Hi

Have decided to ignore the socket 939 scenario and go socket 754 now. I also figure that dual channel on a A64 is probably only a marginal gain [ if at all ] + the Socket 939 CPU prices are looking quite ridiculous ...

So ...... I am looking for a Socket 754 A64 board that has the following features:-

-> FSB adjustable up to say 250 <-> 270 fsb
-> nVidia or SiS chipset - not interested in a Via board
-> a known / proven / working AGP/PCI lock
-> will work with my generic non-ECC Hynix "D43" PC 3200 DDR ram - I have 2 x 512 sticks

Any thoughts ?

Gigabyte K8NS
Chaintech has one
MSI has one but not yet released
EPox has one coming out too

I would WAIT for more to show up before forking $130 for a board.

Don't forget the Shuttle AN50R. It has locks as well. Right now there are lots of new boards on the edge of release based on the nforce3 250. Most do not appear to have all that interestesting of voltages to work with though. Typically 1.7v vcore and 2.9v vdimm is the norm.

unfortunately the shuttle an50r does not have a working pci lock.

it does have a working agp lock though.

i'd recommend the shuttle an50r either way...

i ran my board at 289 fsb and it was great!

I'd like to see DFI release their Lanparty NF3-250 pretty soon. There's still no info on their website about it yet, but I've read plenty of rumour about it. It'd be interesting to know if DFI will release it with a 754 or 939 socket. And if it'll have the same o/c features as the NFII Ultra B, specifically, vcore settings up to 2v and vdimm settings up to 3.2v in the BIOS.

DFI seems to always be the last ones to release their enthusiast mobos, hopefully because they put in that little extra effort to get it right.

Yhe I'm planning on getting the Gigabyte K8NS Pro.The only downsides is there is no Hardware Firewall.


The mobos that are currently out no with the K8T800 chipset don't overclock at all.No AGP/PIC locks.

How about this mobo This seems like an excellent mobo. Anand has a review where het got a 3000+ to OC to 2.4GHz

k8neo does look like a great board, but its not acutaly available yet, both sites showing it say its on backorder, I would wait till newegg or zipzoomfly has it in stock.
