The Short:
I'm building a new high end gaming system for a close family member and having trouble finding a solid monitor for a reasonable price. What's the best 2560x1440 27" to 30" gaming IPS available for under $600 that can be purchased now (or at LEAST by month's end) in the USA?
The long:
So... Despite lots of research, and lots of frustration over Overlord computer not having any of their $400 120 Hz panels available for even PREORDER since November, I'm still struggling to find a 27" to 30" 2560x1440 IPS panel for gaming on a new two way SLI GeForce 970 GTX build at a reasonable pricepoint.
I bought a new 27" Yamakasi IPS panel for around $300 over two years ago, so I've been baffled at how slow improvements to IPS panel selection and pricing have been. I've read about some of the new gsync panels from Asus and acer, but the $800+ price points are asinine.
I'd like to stick close to the original $400 I had priced based on the overlord panel, but can probably go a little higher for a solid panel. Unfortunately, I've been unable to find any 2560x1440 IPS panels with good refresh rates or optimizations for games anywhere near that $400 price point that can be readily purchased today.
