You must not have been following the Office Depot clearance deals lately. This deal is much like those. The Free 15" LCD makes this quite hot though.

You can get a dell with a 17" LCD and less rebates for about $329. Remember you pay taxes on the prerebate price.

Just picked up a Sony VAIO VGC-RB30 -- Intel P4 530J 3.0 gig, 800MHz FSB, 512MB PC3200, 200GB Sata, 9-in1 card reader (does xd), double layer 16x dvd burner, etc. for $190 inc. tax - $100 rebate = $90 last night @ OD.

It was clearanced @ $224 but I persuaded the manager to give me a 20% discount becuase it was missing the remote control.

Now, THAT'S the best deal I'VE ever seen on a PC. :laugh::thumbsup:

Best deal I ever saw (and got) was a few years back - the Dell 8250 for $70 after rebates. It was a P4 2.4, 256 RDRam, etc. At the time it was a fantastic machine!

It wasn't actually supposed to have a remote control. The remote control, ir receiver, ir blasters, and mpeg card are all optional and not included in the OD models. There is an asterisk beside these items on your packing list that explains this.

Sorry but: 40GB - junk; Celeron - junk; CDROM drive - junk.

There are MUCH better deals out there: OD clearance, CompUSA July CTO, etc.
