Best Digital Camera Under $200, and $400

Hey there fellow geekazoids.

I'm looking to buy a camera for myself under $200 - and I want the best bang for the buck. Small or big is ok, but best features and best image quality should be stressed.

The same goes for the $400 price point, although ease of use should be stressed here.

Any suggestions?

Canon A520 (I think you can find those for less than $200). And the Canon A620. I've used professional and consumer digital cameras by Kodak, Olympus, Fuji, and Sony and by far I love the Canon PowerShot A series above anything else when your on a budget.

If you want one of the more compact cameras for the sub 200 i would have to say the canon sd200. Not sure about the 400 area though.

A620 for $350 (zipzoomfly)
A520 $160 (zipzoomfly)

These questions get asked like ever week.

General guidelines:
Get something from a camera company.
Most responses are going to be something from canon since the vast majority of AT users have Canon cameras and are happy with them.
Look what Canon and other camera manufacturers have to offer and decide what balance of size/features works best for your application.

man what a bunch of immature dorks in here. Anyways, I would suggest going to DCResource.com or Steves Digicams for quality reviews. I personally like Canon's and am going to get the A520 for my parents from Newegg (around $160-$170). I have a Powershot S2IS (~$450) and love it. My brother has an itty-bitty SD400 which is a great little camera and around $350.
