yes, I am speaking of dsl/router combo. 10/100 switches can be had anywhere for cheap, and i would think that a [dsl/router combo] + switch would be cheaper than dsl modem + [router/switch] ... Just my opinion, although that could be wrong.
I think the physical layout of the network would be a little easier to understand, as all the actual NATing/DHCP/Routing/anything else is done at exactly one place, which also holds all the config. info for the DSL also -- that instead of having a modem to configure + a separate router unite to configure.
That's my take; is a DSL modem + router/switch cheaper than say a Cisco 675/673 [adsl/sdsl] + 10/100 switch? Also, who manufactures just DSL modems [not router/switch]? Is there a way to buy cisco products without becoming a cisco reseller? I ask because I'd like to have the DSL company just have the telco hit the switch, give me some numbers, and let me use my own stuff [which I purchased separately, ie cheap].
thanks!
