so i went to 4 local headshops today to try out their e cigs to determine which one i liked best, and then purchase it online (in the store the crazy priced)

none of the stores had any you could try out and see which ones you liked.

so my question is, whats the best e cig kit available online (not from china) that will come as close to a real cig as possible. i want one that takes the liquid, not the cartridges

so all you e smokers out there, please chime in on your experiences and link me to a model e cig you would recommend, im not looking to spend more then $60.

99% of ecigs are made in China. It's OK to buy the gear, but stick to US made liquid. The only ecig I know of made in America is the Provari, and it costs way more than $60.

Best recommendation for you is an eGo kit with a clearomizer and a small bottle of liquid to start.

Maybe something like this:

http://www.madvapes.com/5ml-24mg-6723.html

Then get some sampler pack of liquids from a vendor and you should have an OK starter kit.

i buy from a local shop because their prices are the same as online for the most part.

I have a joytech ego twist 1000 and vivi nova tank.

batteries are from 25-35, tanks are around 15. They custom make the juice while you wait. 15 bucks for 30ml of whatever you want. They also have a flavor of the week thats $7 for 30ml.

You dont have to spend a lot to build your own. I think my ego-T mod (battery) cost $20, and the Vivi Nova 3.5ml tank was $12. A charger is a couple of bucks. Thats all you really need. Maybe some replacement coils, which are around 5 for $10, and mine generally last awhile.

I just ordered a kit from Aqua vapor, 2 1100ma adjustable voltage eGo style battery's, a Kranger pro-tank, charger and 1 bottle of eliquid for $69, should be here wed-thr, I will post back the results. As already stated 90+% of the hardware is made in China and I agree with above posters that I will be buying ejuice from USA manufactured sources. The advantage of the Kranger pro-tank is it's made of glass so you can use any type or flavor ejuice without having to worry about plastic breaking down which can happen if you use certain flavors (citrus, cinnamon and a few others) and leaking out. I also like the pro-tank bottom feeder style, less chance of "dry hit" and the replacement coils are $7-8 for a 5 pack..

I had an esig that I got maybe 5 years ago or so. It didn't do shit for me. Patch or gum works better.

That said, I haven't had any cigs in over 2 months, and I haven't worn patch for over a month. I smoke a cigar once a day or so when it's nice out.
I used to smoke cigars before I smoked cigarettes, and, when I was smoking cigs, I tended to inhale or do other things that ruined the cigar experience for me. So during much of my 10 or so years of cig smoking, I didn't smoke more than 2 or 3 cigars a year. But, now, I can smoke them almost every day as long as the weather lasts.

Heller I'd check out this site-heres a link to a forum and there is a discount code and free shipping on the OP.

You can grab a Kanger t3 and a ego battery for very inexpensively there. I'd steer clear of the t2, but the replacement coils are cheaper. The t2 works good but once it gets below 1/2 full its starts to become weak.

After you switch for a while, you will likely find that you will like non tobacco flavors more, like fruits or coffees, etc.

I'd say that 'Americano' from Gotvapes is very close in flavor to actual tobacco, I've looked around a lot and this one is the closest IMO.

My personal experience with T3's was not good - they leaked like crazy for me and didn't produce much vapor. I've heard good reviews about them though so your milage may vary.

I'd recommend an eGo and CE4 combo - the CE4's are super easy to fill, and easy to clean.

That sentiment is understandable.... I find that the t3 draw is kind of airy, I think I may have got better hits out of the t2. The ce4 looks good(I like how the wicks look huge). Someone in the forum thread I linked above recommended the Kanger EVOD and said it was easier to plug one of the holes due to the non-knurled grip.

I got hooked up by my neighbors brother over the weekend while he was here for his nephews HS graduation. he works for a vape company and gave me a Vamo with the extender for the 18650 battery and a eGo with 1 battery and its charger. funny thing is my halo that i ordered on wed came in the mail on sat... So in less than 2 days i got to try a blu. Halo, eGo and a vamo. there is a huge difference between the 3.

the Halo is pretty weak and was kinda disappointed in it. very airy and noisy on the draw feels like im sucking on a straw, no throat hit at all but the coco flavor of the pre-filled cartridges was really good.

I tried a blu disposable and it had a nice throat hit and a nice resistance to the draw but the "tobacco" flavor would take a bit to get used to.

i would rank them in this order,

#1 Vamo V2
#2 eGo
#3 Blu
#4 Halo

I love the Vamo, big throat hit with lots a vapor. right now i have 2 clearomisers one with chocolate and the other with apple. the apple taste just like a green apple jolly rancher.

i would like to get more clearomisers i know just about any one will work between the Vamo and eGo but im not sure what makes one better than the other one. I hear the iClear 16 is the one to get i think i have the Oakley CE4's.

he told me something i didnt know. Blu ecigs is owned by Lorillard so big tobacco is getting in on the ecig thing and explains the big dollar tv commercials.

I tried a hit using his which is some big ass pro model that i forgot who made it. damn! it about knocked me on my ass. serious throat hit and a huge cloud of vape. he has some sort of attachment to it with a caribeaner that he hooks on his beltloop, looks like a light saber lol.

Try to get more info on his "big ass pro model," will ya?

For those using an e-cig to stop smoking...try the tobacco flavors until you finally stop real cigs...then find a different flavor that you like. If you're not smoking, why continue tobacco flavors?

What cleartomizers are people using and where are they getting them from? I'm using CE5s and like them ok but wonder if there's something better.

You have the same set-up I do, it's very nice. This reminds me, I need to order some new juice.

I have been using an EVOD for about two weeks now and really like it. The first day it gave me problems with not firing the atomizer, but the problem went away. Very similar to a T3 but haven't had any leaking issues at all, I highly recommend it over the T3.

I personally do not stick to a single device or clearomizer, I use them all. I have small 808 and 510 batteries, eGos of all sizes both 808 and 510 threaded, and the eRoll kit currently in my arsenal. For clearos I use Halo's G6 mini tank, CE4's, mini and regular Vivi Novas, an EVOD, a C9, CE3's, a T3, an X2 clearo, and also cartomizers.

I guess my point is to try them all, and find what really works for you. Each device has it's upsides and downsides, I don't think anything is 'perfect'.

Good point, although I like my setup it in no way looks like or feels like a cig but the problem is a small 510 battery and the tiny cartos won't last even one day and are kind of a pain to re-fill.

Yea, my 510 batts are basically crap, mostly just an emergency device. My 808 cig sized work much better, though they are starting to show their age. The G6 mini tanks from Halo did breath new life into them, tough.

Yea, if there's one downside to the Protank it does use a lot of juice, I'm planning to order some more soon, the 10ml bottle that came with my kit won't last but a week at this rate!..
