i really hate shaving with a blade and i've never used a elec razor, but i was thinking about either getting a norelco spectra, or a braun syncro system.

any of you guys have any good/bad experiences with either of these two razors?

thanks!

I've never had an electric razor that was worth a crap. tried the Norelco, and some other one, they just don't cut it for me, no pun intended.

I'd think the Spectra would be a good razor, but at $190, you've got to question if it's worth that, especially considering the similar Norelco Advantage razors are under $100 now. Still, I'd buy the Spectra if I had the money, besides, its the offical razor of James Bond, so like the Walther P99, you probably can't go wrong with one.

The Braun Syncro is neat too, about the same amount of money if you get the one with the LCD. I like the self cleaning feature (altough some of the norelco are waterproof and thus washable by hand). I have a braun razor of a similar style, and I think I prefer the rotory head of the Norleco ones. It's easier to shave around my goatee with one.

I've had different Norelco shavers now for about ten years, and I can't say that I've hated any one of them. Currently, I've got an Advantage model(Nivea lotion dispensing ones) that I've used for the past three years, and I still like it as much as the first day I used it. If you do buy a Norelco, make sure you get one of their 1-hour charging units, instead of the 8-hour ones. Just my .02¢...

I just got the Braun Synchro and I love it. I was using a Remington that was ok but the Braun whips its ass on a low charge. Most people who use the Norelco first almost never use another electric razor again because they complain of having their face scraped raw.

I used a rotary razor for years in ignorance. Foil razors are the only way to go.

I have an older Norelco and it works well but I wanted a new razor that can be rinsed for easier cleaning so for Christmas Im getting a remington. If it stinks Wal-Mart can just take it back! But the razors work good just have to keep them clean and try to replace the blades when needed.

Either Panasonic Linear or Braun Syncro. It all depends on how you're going to be shaving...

The Braun Syncro is pretty decent. That's what I use. But the foil is a piece of crap, and gets holes in it like every 6 months. And they cost like $25 bucks online for a replacement, and the local stores usually charge like $35.

So if you get the syncro, expect to keep shelling out money for foil replacements.. and those cleaning cartridges..

my brother and i both have electric razors. I'm not sure either of us use them. (BTW, both are Norelcos, and i don't use mine b/c i don't like how you have to go over an area a couple times in a circle motion).
