92 mm how is that possible maybe i should get a 92 mm fan any one can suggest one with maximum cooling and low noise. I thought only the slk900 support 92mm fans LED how did u get it to fit?

Thanks

Well mines actually a Thermalright SLK-800 (A) but I think the Base is the same...for kicks and giggles I tried the clips on a 92mm Fan and it worked...although the clips do not fit in the right place it is secure as you can see...

92mm fans may have more CFM than 80mm, but the air is coming out with less static pressure. I havn't tried a 92mm fan on my slk-800, but I have been reading at Overclockers forums that 80mm fans work better with narrow spaced thin fin heatsinks like the slk-800.

the tornado is VERY loud. frankly, if you have good enough ventilation any good 80mm fan will do. i have a low RPM fan on it now. i have side mounted blow holes which makes the cooling very good.

how about overclocking is the tornado as loud as the old school delta's that are like 6000rpm and 60mm i remeber they were the best back then

My Systems ranges from 35-42C with a 1700XP OC'd to 2.2GHz with 1.775v's and it runs a lot cooler with the 92mm

You might even be able to try the "80mm SK-6" diagonal trick to get your 92mm fan on a SLK-800.

I'd go for a Panaflo L1A though, unless you're massively OCing.

That's good to know. Makes me want to experiment with a 92mm fan. Which 80mm were you using before and what 92mm is on there now?

I had a low noise LED lighted fan then put on the Thermaltake Smart Case Fan 2 wide open and controlled via Baybus...92mm still ran the Square cooler and most definitely quieter. :wine:

I also tested the difference between 92 & 80 because the HS design is so narrow compared to the fans.
I used a smartfan2 (80mm) & a zalman zm-f2 (92mm), both at very low voltages to achieve near silence.
On an 8rda+ using USDM, the 92mm zm-f2 temps were: 48/34ºC & the 80mm smartfan2 was at 52/36ºC
Nevermind that I was still unhappy with the smartfan's noise.
Also this was using a 900u, which is slightly larger

I take it you are using the resistor that comes with the zalman to run it at 5V? How do you like that fan? I'm considering replacing all my 80mm panaflo L1A's with 92mm fans.

Actually I use a rheobus, but I do attach the resistors inline to the rheobus on some fans to get a more sensitive dial.
The zm-f2 is a nice fan though. I can undervolt it to near silence with a rheobus, and it still pushes a decent amount of air. The bundled resistor does make it quiet, but not enough for my taste.
I've never tried a 92mm L1a, but I'd assume from the quality of the 80mm's i've used that they are better than the zm-f2.
By the way, I just set up a cpu duct with my new case, and my temps are awesome now. there's no more efficient air cooling method I've seen.
