After visiting the west coast for the first time, I can safely say that the best fast food comes from: In n Out
A lot of people say this, but if it so good, why hasn't it expanded already to all over the US. I mean if it is so good why wouldn't they do it?

in-n-out prides itself on freshness and quality of its products. if they had to ship ingredients and food across the country it wouldn't be as fresh and in their eyes thats unsatisfactory.
What? I think you have been sold some magic beans here. Modern transportation can pretty much get everything across the country in no time flat. Freshness is no longer an issue in food anymore.

According to in-n-out's website the business is family owned with no plans for franchises or going public. If you can buy quality ingredients in the southwest you can buy the in the east as well. Maybe the owners already make tons of $$ from the stores they have and don't want the hassle of trying to open more stores in the already crowded eastern market, kudos to them. Steak n Shake is a decent alternative around here and they have been dropping prices a lot lately too..

What's with all of the Wendy's love? Their regular burgers are flavorless with nasty bread and too much mayo, their chili is loaded with cumin, and their fries are bland.

Evidently you have never ate at a wendys then.

Their food is usually the best, have a wide range of food, and their fries are the best of the fast food places.

Other than the range of items they have, none of that is true.

And yet a large amount of the people have posted that place.

I guess you are confused and think the stripper Wendy is what we are talking about.

No plans for global domination then. Ah, too bad Ray Kroc and Colonel Sanders would be disappointed.

it is
lettuce on the east coast is clearly not as fresh in the grocery stores as in california where almost all of the country's lettuce is made
almost all of the avocados in the country are grown in california (aside from the ones grown outside of the country) as well as many other vegetables.
in-n-out is getting a good deal by staying where most of their products are made (less transportation costs)

Pollo Tropical

Its mainly restricted to Florida and a few locations near NJ, but the mere presence of Pollo Tropical makes up for not having any Sonics or Jack in the Box in my area. Its the only fast food place I know of so far that serves fried yuca and sweet plantain, which qualifies for instant win.

I was gonna say this until I thought about having Chicken every single meal...I might have to say wendy's as well just for variety. I guess I would skip breakfast

Dude lettuce isn't made, it's grown and it's grown all over the country. I eat California grapes and other produce all summer long and they cost $1.49/lb. They have huge trains that head east and the produce is here in like 3 days. Lettuce is about $1.29/head and in any event condiment prices are but a pittance of the overall price of food cost.

MOS Burger

Oh wow. Someone knows good food. That place is freaking AWESOME. Ridiculously nice.

lol yea i was surprised to see that in here too...

People shouldn't be allowed to post in this thread unless they have eaten at MOS at least once. They're ignorant of what good fast food really is.

So what the hell *IS* MOS?

^^^^^^^^This. I have never even heard of this place. Where are they located?

OP should have limited it to national chains instead of local stuff.

MOS Burger is international, not local.

MOS is very good for fast food but not the best burger ever as people claim. I had it in Japan.

I would give them bonus points if they were smart enough to stay out of LA.

I've seen too many people answering Wendy's
Wendy's is at the end of the list for me.... bland food, dry, never very good....
and their dollar menu sucks... not a thing on there worth a dollar.

Jack In The Box is probably the restaurant I've eaten at the most... they are pretty good, have a good variety.
Burger King is always a classic...

McD's is garbage.

Taco Bell is dope but I'll have to invest in Charmin or something

Carl's Jr. and Panda Express are recent entries to my area... both are damn fucking good. Carl's Jr 6 dollar burgers can't be beat by any fast food around here, as long as it's fresh. Panda Express is pretty dope for fast food... I know it's nowhere near as good as real chinese food, but it is pretty dope for fast food.

in n out

$1.99 cheeseburger is cheap and they always use super fresh veggies so no wilted lettuce or wimpy tomatoes

you lost all credibility right there.

Jack in the Box looks like someone did just that.
