Anyone got any recommendations? I have a Camry. I'm talking about for home use and not storing in the trunk. I've got a cheap harbor freight one that replaced a really good Craftsman one that died after 20 years and it's awful.

Harbor Freight makes jacks that aren't terrible, too.

I have the Daytona yellow floor jack and it's awesome. You can find YouTube reviews comparing it directly to it's snapon competitor and it performs flawlessly.

I've heard nothing buy good things about the HF/Daytona jacks and honestly, for the money, it's sort of a no-brainer. Sure, you can go out and buy a snap-on or $300 - $400 Sunex but it's not going to do a "better" job of lifting up your ride.

Been using a AF&F 2 ton low profile jack since the early 2010's and it's a great piece of equipment that I trust--but even so I've still had to service it a couple of times.

The Daytona Jacks from Harbor Freight are not Snap On knock offs. It's the same jack. Snap On tried to sue Harbor Freight and they found out they were sourcing their jacks from the same factory. That's also why you don't see Harbor Freight comparing the Daytona jacks to Snap On's in their ads.

I went with an Arcan. It's the same jack as the Sunex. I decided to purchase it when the price dropped to $217. Sweet jack. Takes 6.5 pumps to get to full height (19"). It weighs 58 lbs and has handles. I did not find a HF model that had handles. I need to be able to carry it as I have no garage. Even though it's almost half the weight of the steel jack, it's still massive. Thanks for the suggestions. I did look into all of them. I believe that Napa jack was a rebranded Hein-Werner. If I had a garage that would be the one to get.

I found the article. The Daytona jacks are one of Harbor Freights really good products. When Daytona jacks were first introduced by Harbor Freight. They primarily compared them to the Snap-On floor jacks almost exclusively in their ads for comparison by price. For the last couple of years Harbor Freight didn't compare the Daytona jacks to Snap-On jacks in their ads.

I have a Craftsman floor jack....3 ton jack, so bigger than what you want.

Hydraulic floor jacks are going to be hit or miss. I read a lot of bad reviews on the craftsman I got, but I was able to use coupons and get it for $70 with a crawler and 2 jack stands I'll only use along with the jack for safety. The reviews that were bad suggested that some folks had issues with the hydraulics leaking or losing pressure after a few months. I figure it's likely common for jacks with any kind of engineering and cheap parts sourcing to fail. Since I'm reluctant to go under a vehicle (due to safety concerns) without a second jack or stand....I feel like I can get a cheaper jack. I don't worry about getting crushed because I only use it for swapping tires or brakes.

Anyhow...3 years later. I've used that jack 10 times or so and haven't had an issue. I can do oil changes on my truck and 4Runner without a jack, so I don't need it that often.

Yeah I had a 3T Crapsman jack tht lasted forjust enough time to escape the warranty. But I have a 1 1/2T from them that is 40 years old.
I'd be interested to see if you could repair it. Not sure how they're made, etc....but might be fun to disassemble.

All of Harbor Freight's all-aluminum jacks have handles.
You could have also gotten an extended service protection plan in-store, but there might not be one near you.

Just letting any other readers of this thread know.

Not the handle to jack it up. Handles on the side for carrying. Any extended service plan is a rip. They sell it because they make money, not because it's useful to you.

They are repairable if you can find the o-rings for them. The failed jack probably had some debris in a check valve.

That's what I would expect. You could MacGyver the thing as long as cheap screws and parts don't rust.
