best food for road trips?

anyone have any suggestions? I'm embarking on a 14 hour drive this weekend, most of which will be spent by myself (I'll be riding with someone for the last 2 hours on the way out there, and the first 2 on the way home).

A 16-ounce bag of World Kitchens beef jerky is around $8.50 at Wal-Mart. Cut up into smaller pieces for "portion control" and easier consumption.

I always take lots of energy drinks, Ensure meal replacement drink, water, and veggies, like baby carrots, and maybe some sunflower seeds. That's all I need for a few full days of driving.

yeah good beef jerky is great.

also you don't need to do anything special ot keep it good. oh and it gets you full on a little amount.

Beef Jerky is not even that good. Ever has the Asian versions? 100x better. I say go with a bag of chips.

Another vote for beef jerky. That stuff will fill you up quick so no need to stop extra to get that fat filled burger. On top of that, you wont need to stop to use the bathroom as much because a little beef jerky goes a long way.

I recently road tripped and tried the Jack Links Beef Steak Nuggets. A bit softer than true jerky so easier to chew. Lots of protein.

I like eating dried seasoned edamame and sometimes a trail mix of some sort....

If I were you I would definitely bring a cooler if for anything just the ice....

Trail mix is good. Jerky is always a winner. Those wlll get you full, get you plenty of vitamins and protien, and without the loads of fat and sugars of junk food like candy, Doritoes, gold fish, etc.

On a 14 hour drive though you'll probably want to pack a toothbrush though. That trail mix will definately stick to your teeth.

would you recommend real ice or one of those block things that you freeze?
