<< What kind of games do you like?
FPS, RTS, some RPGs are all better on the PC. If you want multiplayer, it's PC or Xbox (ps2 and gc will have adapters, but games supporting them may be few and far between).
Sports games are almost always better on the console, as are fighters. Arcade style gameplay is more suited to the console. Two player games (where you're actually sitting next to your opponent) are more fun on a console.
PC Games are sometimes cheaper then console games, because pc game companies aren't helping pay the losses on the console. >>
MrBond - brings up some good ideas in his post. It's not a matter of what others think when it comes to deciding which is better for gaming (pc v. console) it's based on personal preferences. Because I personally love playing video games on a console... however you may love to play it on a personal computer w/ a mouse and keyboard. True some consoles such as the DC have both the mouse and the keyboard, but nonetheless, there are always people who argue that it's just not the same. But then again, it's just their personal taste. So whatever floats your boat is what you should be doing. Some people just go ahead and get both a PC upgrade and a console so that they would have a chance to play all the great games that come out on each - if you have the dinero to spare, then this would be the ideal situation
