However you are doing it wrong.
1) You don't need a 'crack' to disable anything in the free version.
If you don't want to deal with the nag popup see the instructions that were posted by me on the first page of this thread.
2) You don't need a 'license file" either.
The free version generates it automatically even explains this during the install process.
3) Sounds more like you downloaded the free version and then a crack to turn it into the full version thus the need to the license file and what not. So, no it's not useless because you are just doing it wrong.
