Not thought of other games, the last 2 games aren't that great especially for me

Why would you even bother checking out EP1 if you didn't like HL2? Personally, I thought they were both top notch and a lot of fun.

Allows access to the game plus DoD, CS, Sven Coop, TFC, and more. Add in some of the cool high def packs and that game doesn't look all that bad. Considering that it is like 7+ years old now or something outrageous like that, the graphics are too too bad.

As usual, I preface any response to a question with a silly word like "best" in it by saying no answer is correct, and all are correct. It's all totally subjective.

The best time-invested for low price CD out there lately seems to be Bejeweled Two, which is an addictive game that has a unique sound track and interesting sound effects. For the cost, you get hours and hours of repeat play.

Painkiller + Expansion FTW if Serious Sam gameplay is your thing. Awesome graphics, physics, guns, bosses, music, and a slightly compelling story even. May have to find it on sale, but it is possible

I'm going to reccomend something a bit different in Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel without a Pulse. Different, great, and funny game released a few months back to very good reviews. I can't stop playing it. If not that, Far Cry. Give it a look though.

I was looking for a break from the online FPS games (such as BF2), and picked up Silent Hunter III for something different.

This is a slow paced single player game that does eventually get monotonous, but not before I felt like I had gotten my money's worth out of it. Unfortunately, it does use Starforce (it's an Ubisoft game).

HL2, then Far Cry. They both have a ton of play time and well worth the money. HL2's detail is amzing if your system can handle it.
